She nodded gently a little happy that he said that. She sighed softly as she laid her head on his shoulder while her hands worked out a tense knot in the small of his back. "If you can't find anybody else to go with you I will." She said gently as she closed her eyes gently taking in a deep breath before they fluttered back open and she lifted up her head and worked her hands up his back again.
She smiled gently and laughed softly at him. "Why thank you. I find it hard for you to fall asleep now when you've been sleeping all day long weather it was drug induced or not." She said gently as she looked around when she heard the chiming. She too listened to the number of chimes and frowned when she stopped counting at eleven. "Is it really that late?" She asked gently and somewhat tiredly.

"Don't worry I'm sure that Ryan will go with me. But you're welcome to come along as long as you promise not to get too close to Alex is he shows sings of wanting to hurt somebody." He said knowing that Alex might try and single her out and use her as a target. But that wasn't going to happen if he had to pick her up Alex was not going to hurt her. Now don't get him wrong he was just as concerned about Ryan as he was about her. But he knew that Ryan would be able to fight back more then Jeanette could. Not to mention, there was nothing wrong with Ryan and he didn't want to risk the change of Alex somehow hurting Jeanette's knee. Just like when he was forced to fight back with Alex he made sure that he didn't hurt Alex's leg any. Since if that happened then he would have to take him to a doctor and that could be disastrous. "I needed the sleep though, I kind of feel better because of it." He said knowing that what he said was true but it made him wonder what he had missed today.
"Yes, it really is that late but if you want to fall asleep you can. I'm capable of taking care of myself and it's not like I can run away on you guys. Not to mention Ryan only sleeps for a few hours at a time. A full nights sleep for him is anywhere between five to seven hours." He said as he looked at her, she didn't even have to sleep on the floor. Since she could use the guest bedroom or something and he knew that sleeping on a bed was a lot more comfortable then sleeping on the floor.

She nodded softly looking up at him as her hands continued to work along her back, but she was starting to slow down little by little. Her hands were starting to hurt a bit. "I promise I'll stay away from him if he does, but I'm perfectly capable of fighting back." She said gently as she laid her head on his shoulder and she slowly eased her arms up and around his shoulders clasping her hands together resting them on his collar bone. "I figured as much when Ryan told me how upset you were and that you stayed up pretty much all night." She said gently before she kissed him softly on the cheek then rested her head back on his shoulder.
"But I don't want to leave you all by yourself." She said softly as she nuzzled her nose against his shoulder softly. She frowned gently as she thought about why Ryan wasn't getting much sleep. "I can understand where he's coming from with the whole very little sleep thing." She murmured softly as she closed her eyes.

He believed what she said, but Alex could get really unpredictable and he knew that there were some things that she could just not defend herself again. Such as Alex throwing things at her, since if he threw something out from the darkness of his room or something there was almost no way you could see it coming he'd already proved that. "I know you can defend yourself but there's just some things that even I have problems with. Such as predicting when he's going to throw something or sneak up on you and try something." He said knowing how sneaky Alex was you never really knew where he was. You'd think that he was in a dark corner trying to hide from the world and the next thing you know he's hitting you from behind. Which was exactly why Jeanette would be in the middle between Ryan and him. So that they'd be able to watch the sides and Alex couldn't get her from behind.
"Normally I wouldn't get that upset but everything just kind of came down on me all at once." He said and then took one of her hands lightly, he really wasn't one for breakdowns. "I'm used to being alone though so it won't be so bad." He said and then wondered what she meant by she could understand where Ryan was coming from. But he wasn't going to ask because he knew where Ryan drew the line with things. And if he didn't want him to know something then he wouldn't tell him. He was about to say something but then he noticed her eyes were closed and he wondered if she was asleep.

She listened to him, but she didn't really say anything. She wasn't sure what to say really. He cared enough for her that he would do anything to keep her from getting hurt when he could. She smiled at the thought and a soft yawn escaped her lips. She felt his hand lightly take hers and she smiled weakly as she squeezed his gently. "It's okay, I have moments like that all the time."She said gently. "Like when I was in the bathroom crying." She thought to herself glad that Thomas hadn't witnessed that. "Well, like I last night, you don't have to be alone anymore, and besides I don't want to be alone right now." She murmured gently as she hugged him softly for a moment.

"Yeah but I never get as upset as I did last night. The last time that I probably was that hysterical was when Alex tackled me, knocked the wind out of me and I honestly thought he was going to really hurt me. But after he did that he just got up and walked away." He said and then shivered as he remembered those few moments when he thought that Alex was somehow hurt him badly. That had been the last straw for him and after that he'd told his parents that it was either Alex or him and that if they didn't do something about the way he'd been acting then he would move out. They took his statement seriously and sent Alex to a different psychiatrist and that had seemed to help things for awhile. "If you don't want to be alone then you don't have to be." He said and then reached over and picked the photo album up from underneath the coffee table. He opened it up and started to look at the pictures that were inside of it.
"I've got to warn you I don't know what's in this album so don't be surprised if you see some photos from when I used to go out to the clubs and parties with Ryan." He said and then turned the page to reveal a slightly drunk Ryan with his arms around two girls. "So this album must be where he keeps the photos shot by me. Since I can kind of remember taking that one." He said and then smiled slightly the image had been taken a few weeks before he met Jeanette.

"You know, things could be worse, Thomas." She said gently as she looked at him. She was worried for Thomas more than she was herself. She wasn't sure what she would do if he got himself hurt worse than he already was. She looked to the album as he picked it up. She looked over his shoulder as he turned the page. She laughed at the image of Ryan and the two girls then looked to Thomas smiling. She turned around with her back leaning against the back and she looked to him. "You can lay back down if you want to. I don't mind if you use my lap as a pillow." She said as she set a pillow in her lap for him.

"I know that things could be worse, I mean Alex could have really hurt me. Or you could have hurt yourself or everybody could have turned against me. Maybe when I go back home again to have that little chat with Alex he'll actually listen because he'll be scared that I'm to hurt him." He said at least he had that small sliver of hope in him, since there actually was a chance that could happen. Then again, there was a chance that he could have really hurt his knee too and as much as he hated to think that he knew that it could be the reality of things. He just hoped that things got better overnight and that he could be up and walking tomorrow. Sure that might not be possible but he just hoped that he'd recover quickly from this. He'd hate for the rest of summer to be messed up because of this. Although summer was basically coming to a close anyway.
"Ok then, that's probably a good thing because that's what I was going to do. Since I just realized that there's a ton of pictures of Alex toward the back of this album." He said and then set the album down on the table before leaning back and resting his head on the pillow. Tonight was going to be another very long night.

She looked at him and nodded gently. "Just be careful please." She murmured softly as she looked at the photo album in thought. She sighed and watched as he set the photo album down on the table. She watched as he eased himself back down then she looked to his knee. "Is it feeling any better?" She asked gently as she reached over and lifted the ice pack to check it. It looked like some more of the swelling had gone down a little more. She looked back to him and brushed some of his hair out of his face. She leaned down and gave him a light kiss to the lips before she sat back up and lifted her legs propping them onto the coffee table for her comfort.

"I promise that I'll be careful I don't want to get hurt like this by Alex again. He's done enough to my mental state to last a lifetime ever since the accident or so." He said and then thought about if somebody would have asked him three years ago if everything was going to happen to him he would have told them no. Since he never would have thought that everything would happen but it had and there was no way he could turn back the clock and make Alex not get into that accident. Heck, if somebody would have asked him after Alex came out of his coma that he would turn into a psychotic he would have told them no. He'd just seemed to determined to get better, before he came home. "My knee is feeling a little bit better, maybe it's just bruised up really bad." He said as he moved it slightly, a small shock of pain went through it but it wasn't as bad as it had been before. At least he could move it a little now. "You know that if you stay up the whole night that you're going to be a zombie tomorrow right?" He asked knowing that he'd probably end up staying awake most of the night. So if she stayed up then she most likely would sleep the day away like he had today.

"You promise?" She asked softly looking at him worriedly. She looked down at his knee. "It may be better by morning. The swelling's gone down some more." She said sweetly as he moved it. She could see the pain that it was giving him, but she didn't say anything. She just brushed some hair out of his face comfortingly. "If I'm tired enough I'll fall asleep, but it woudn't be much difference since I only get three to five hours of sleep a night." She said gently as she laid her head back letting out a soft yawn. "If I fall asleep and Ryan comes down anytime soon after, if he can, you can get him to carry me up to the guest room if you would prefer me to sleep up there, but I don't want to be alone right now." She said softly looking at him with a gentle smile on her lips.

"Yes, I promise and that is one promise that I'll keep." He said and then wanted to kick himself for saying a thing like that. She didn't know about all of the promises that he'd broken. Such as promising his parents that he wouldn't try anything with Alex while they were gone. Maybe he shouldn't have broken that one because if he'd listened to them then he wouldn't be hurt right now. Then again, maybe Alex would have attacked Ryan a lot more when he went over there, he really didn't know and he would never know. "I forgot that you don't sleep that much, unlike me I get five to seven hours of sleep each night. Well, when I'm not off doing things in the middle of the night that is." He said and then heard her yawn, he really didn't mind if she fell asleep because he was used to being in the house alone. Well, not this house but his own.
"Well, he'd probably carry you over to the guest bedroom that is on this floor. But I'll tell him to do so if he wakes up." He said and then heard the wind blow outside, it sounded really odd from inside of the almost empty house. He made a mental note not to be here when he was storming if he could help it. Because he could only imagine how much the thunder echoed in here.

She smiled soflty and nodded. "Thank you, because if you break that promise you'll be stuck in a hospital for a month." She threatened him. She was more of teasing him, but she would be thouroughly upset with him if something happened to him while she wasn't there. She sighed softly. "Lucky." She retorted about how much sleep he got. She wished she got more sleep than what she's been getting the last six or seven months. There are times where she has to take sleeping pills when she wants to sleep more than a few hours.
She yawned again and the sighed as she closed her eyes and softly started to hum her father's lullaby. Her hands played with his hair, but her humming and the movement of her hand in his hair was starting to slow as she felt sleep starting to overtake her.

Well then he really would take it seriously because he honestly didn't want to stay in a hospital for a month. That really would drive him nuts and it would probably drive everybody around him nuts because if he was stuck somewhere for a few days when he didn't want to be he tended to get ornery very fast. Jeanette had experienced a little bit of that today when he'd made those comments earlier before falling asleep. "Being in a hospital for a month wouldn't be any fun I don't think you'd want to be around me if I was stuck in there for that long." He said and then nodded at her comment about him being lucky because he got that much sleep a night. Some days he could sleep until noon if he wanted to and he loved those days. He knew that some people would find that odd because he loved parties, yet he loved getting a full nights sleep. He felt her start to play with his hair and hum, he knew that she was definitely going to fall asleep soon when it slowed. "Darn, I didn't get to read you a story." He said and knew that she probably wouldn't respond.

She nodded her head in agreement to his statement. She was starting to get to zonked out to even move. Her hand slowed down some more. She didn't know why playing with hair helped her to fall asleep, but it did. She could remember the days she used to lay in bed with her dad or mom or even neils playing with their hair to get to sleep. There had been nights when she ran into Neil's bedroom after a nightmare and he used to let her crawl into the bed with her and let her play with his hair to help her get back to sleep.Times like those were definately kodak moments and her mother actually had a picture of her alseep in her bed cuddled up to her father with a thumb in her mouth and her other hand was playing with his hair.
She heard his comment and her only response was a soft chuckle. Her hand slowed down some more and she nuzzled her face into the back cushion of the couch.
