David tipped his head just slightly to the side, eyes still locked but a playful look in his eye now, even though there was clearly love reflected on his face. "It means a lot to me that you have captured it with such beauty. You placed your soal into this and it shows. No one else is that beautiful."
His eyes rested on hers and his thumb reached up to brush over her lips before his own were brushing hers. It was only for a moment, his hope that she wouldn't smack him was immense. He pulled back and felt a feeling he had never gotten before. Blood rushed to his cheeks and he turned away, back to the two paintings. His hand lingered at her waist momentarily and then pulled back as well. He ran fingers through his hair in frustration with himself. His mind had gotten away from him. He'd let his desires take control and she probably hated him now.
His head bowed in sorrow at that thought.

She looked up at him smiling gently. She felt her breath hitch when his thumbs brushed over her lips. Her eyes closed when his softly brushed over her own. She felt him pull away and her eyes fluttered open a little disappointed that he had. She saw the blush enter his cheeks and she herself looked down blushing softly. She looked down when his hand pulled away from his waist. She looked at him seeing the frustration that he was feeling when he ran a hand through his hair. She saw him bow his head in sorrow and frowned softly. She put a hand on his cheek and then lifted his head to look at him.
She looked him in the eyes as if searching his sould with those violet eyes of hers. "You realize that not only have you given me inspiration, but you've stolen my heart as well, don't you?" She asked softly as her hand fell to his shoulder to rest there.

David looked up, a grimace stuck firmly upon his face, his lips thin. As she spoke, the expression fell away and he realized what she was saying. He pulled her into a tight hug, "Even if I have stolen yours, you must understand I have a guilty conciouse about things like that." he smiled at the wall she had her back to. "You must also understand, that if I have stolen your heart, you have murdered me and kidnapped mine, which, as I understand it, is a much worse crime."
He pulled back smiling at himself and her in the same moment and looked into her violet eyes. "You are a beautiful girl Maddison." he said softly, "And as long as I am capable I will want to make you happy. Even if we are not able to hold hands or hug, you will be more than a friend to me." He promised this with all his heart and brought a hand to her chin to hold it up, finger brushing her skin softly.
"Always."

She watched as his expression changed. She let out a surpised gasp when he hugged her tightly, but she didn't mind. She smiled at his words and wrapped her arms around his neck gently. "I'm sorry, but I don't feel a bit of guilt or remorse for taking your heart. Without it I couldn't have created such magical paintings." She said gently as she pulled away from him some.
She smiled softly and reached a hand up to his cheek. "And you are a handsome boy, David," She said softly as she brushed some hair out of his face, "but I want to know what happens to this side of you when you're in public because I like it and I want to see more of it, which would include you giving me hugs and holding my hands." She said softly as she looked at him as he lifted her chin gently. She sighed softly at the feel of his finger stroking her sking. Next thing she knew she stood up on her toes to reached him and she let her lips softly brush over his as her eyes slowly closed.

David reacted to her kiss with his hands and let them travel to her neck, holding her in place as he kissed her back. He was the first to let go though, "If you'd like to see this behavior in public," he smiled playfully and placed a hand behind her knees. "You shall." He knocked her knees from under her and caught her in his arms. He smiled and kissed her forehead, then started for the stairs.
"We'll start with your family shall we?" He laughed and looked at her for aproval.

Her eyes fluttered open when he pulled out of the kiss. "We're going to have to tone down the kisses around Mama and Daddy though." She said without realizing what he was doing. The next thing she knew he had knocked her off her feet and caught her in his arms. She let out a small laugh and kissed him on the cheek after he kissed her forehead.
"We shall." She said sweetly as she wrapped an arm around his shoulder. "Which brings me to ask. Would you mind staying for dinner?" She asked sweetly. "Hey, kids! Supers ready!" Announced her mom from below the stairs. She looked back to David and chuckled. "Looks like you have no choice now. Mama makes us all eat at once." She said sweetly.

David smiled at her words, "Alright, but everytime they kiss eachother, I get one too." He let her down onto her feet and laughed again. He snuck into a corner and crouched down, pushing a finger to his lips and hissing in a way that said to be quiet, "If I hide, they won't feed me..." He got up and put his arm around her shoulders. "Of course I'll stay for dinner Maddie."
He looked at her, "How could I resist staying with you longer than I already have?"

She laughed softly and made a thinking face. "I think I can agree to that, but I'll warn you, they don't kiss as much as they used to." She said playfully as he set her down. She laughed at him sweetly wand watched him as he fooled around. She looked up at him as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders. She smiled sweetly and laid her head down on his shoulder then looked back up at him. "I don't know. How could you?" She asked teasingly as she led him out of the room and down the hall. She saw Dalton wandering into the kitchen. Then, she heard her mother coming out and walking into the dinning room with a pan of her meatloaf in her gloved hands. "Dalton, where's your father?" Her mother asked gently. "He's in his office, Mom." Dalton answered as he came out with a bowl of mashed potatoes in one hand and one of green beans in the other. "Go tell him he better come out and eat or so help me God I'll drag him out of there by his ear." She said to him as she came out and walked back into the kitchen to fetch the tea pitcher. "Yes, ma'am." He said as he walked out of the dinning room and wandered down the hall to their dad's office.
She looked up at David smiling gently as she led him into the kitchen once they were down the stairs. "Mama, this is David Verich. He's the one who gave me the inspiration for the two paintings I've been working on. He's going to eat supper with us. David, this is my mom." She said sweetly looking up at David smiling brightly at him. She looked nothing like her mother. Her mother had naturally blond hair and blue eyes. Maddison never did find out where she got her looks from she got her black hair from her father though and some of her more promenent features came from him to. "Well, it's nice to meet you David. I've been wondering who this mystery boy who's stolen my place as first to see Madie's paintings was." She said teasingly looking at David as she pulled out five plates for them to eat off of. She held them out to Maddie. "It's your night to set the table." She said gently. Maddie rolled her eyes and sighed. "Yes, ma'am." She said as she took the plates and walked over to a drawer and opened then picked up the utensils they would need for the night then trudged out of the kitchen to the dinning room and started to set the places at an antique looking round table that had a white table cloth with blue embroidery and a set of six bamboo place mats to help keep it clean. The food was sitting on the table and a pitcher of sweet tea sat in the middle as well.

David nodded hello to her mother and gave a slight bow, "It's an honor Mrs. West. You have a lovely daughter might I say." He smiled and walked out to help Maddie. When he saw her placing plates and looking just as gorgeous as always he couldn't help himself. He walked up behind her and placed his arms around her waist, allowing his lips to rest in the cradle of her neck.
"I'm a lucky man." he said quietly to her hair as he smelled it softly and pulled away, kissing her cheek and stepping back. He brushed the curtain of her hair behind her neck and smiled at her again.

Her mother nodded gently and smiled. She watched him walk out of the kitchen just as Dalton came in with their father right behind him.
Maddie jumped gently when he came up behind her. She giggled softly as she set the last plate down. "You just can't keep your hands off can you?" She asked teasingly. She sighed soflty and looked down at him smiling gently. She set the last of the utensils down and she smiled softly when he kissed her on the cheek and then brushed her hair behind her neck. She turned to him and gave him a sweet peck on the lips. "Ahem." She jumped and turned to see her father standing in the doorway of of the dinning room with a curious note to his green eyes. She looked up to David smiling gently. "Daddy this is David, David Verich. David this is my dad." She said sweetly looking to her father smiling happily before she slipped out to get something from the kitche. "Nice to meet you, David." Her father said walking over and holding out a hand for David to shake. Maddie came back in with glasses in her hands and started to set them out.

David shook his head, "I could try, but I'd fail miserably. You know how I hate to lose." He kissed her back but jumped as her father walked into the room. "Oh, hello there Mr. West." he said calmly. "Pleasure to meet you as well." He took his hand and shook it with his usual firmness. He had always had rough hands and his handshake matched them. He smiled, "You're lucky to have Maddie." he said, then turned to her and winked playfully, "And lucky that I haven't quite had much time with her." he smiled, "She's a lovely girl."
He turned back, "And I promise that I will take very good care of her."

She looked up at David and smiled as the two shook hands. She looked up as her mother walked in with a little gravy bowl full of gravey and Dalton came in behind her with a basket of home made buttermilk buiscuts. She looked back to her father as he looked from her to David for a moment then nodded and sat down at his spot at the table. Maddie guestured to David's seat which was inbetween her and Dalton. She sat down next to her father and looked over to Dalton who was eyeing her questioningly.
"How was work today dear?" Her mother asked, who was sitting between her father and Dalton. "Same old, same old." He muttered as he picked up the basket of buiscuts and took one then handed the basket to Maddie as he forked a peice of meat loaf onto his plate. Maddie looked to her father then took the basket and set a buiscut on her plate as she passed it to David. "Well, what about you, kids?" She asked curiously directing her gaze to Maddie then Dalton as she took the bowl of mashed potatoes from Dalton to spoon some onto her plate. Dalton just shrugged his shoulders. "I just lazed around today. Watched a poker game some." He murmured as he spooned some gravey onto his mashed potatoes."I uh, showed David the paintings earlier." Maddie said gently as she put some meatloaf onto her plate then looked to David smiling then looked back to her mother. "Really now? What did you think of them David?" Her father asked curiously as he took the bowl of mashed potatoes from her mother. He looked to David as he spooned some onto his plate. "Oh, yes, tell us what you think of them since she wouldn't let me see them first." Her mother said happily. Maddie just looked down at her plate then to David smiling encouragingly.

David listened quietly to the family talk about their days and smiled to himself as he poked Maddie behind the knee under the table. He took a biscuit from the basket that was being passed around and waited for his turn at the rest of it. When the conversation turned to his opinion about the paintings he looked up at the family and thought a moment for the right words, "I thought..." he paused, "they were the second most beautiful things I've ever seen in my life." He smiled and nudged Maddie's foot with his own to see if she understood what he meant.
There was no doubt that was what they'd wanted to hear and what the truth really was.

Maddie looked to him smiling gently as she poked him in the thigh back then looked to her father as he passed her the mashed potatoes. She spooned some onto her plate then handed the bowl to David as she was handed the greenbeans. She looked up at him when he nudged her foot. She understood instantly what he ment by it.
She smiled sweetly at him then looked to her mother. "I'll show them to you later once David's left, Mama. I just felt that David should see them first since he showed me the inspiration." She said sweetly as she handed David the greenbeans. "I'd love to do that then, Maddie, and it was very much understandable." Her mother said gently then looked to David. Maddie could tell she was suspicious of what they were doing under the table. She had told her several stories of how her and her father used to poke and play footsie under the table and her parents never realized it.
The Russian blue cat must have been sleeping under the table because she was up and running figure eights through Maddie's legs before she moved on to cuddle against David's leg. Maddie glanced down at her and chuckled at her some before she looked up to David smiling sweetly.

David laughed at the cat crawling about under the table and let it die to a soft smile when it curled against his leg. He twitched his foot back and forth, rubbing it with his shoe. He looked up at Maddie and grinned, "Great cat." he said simply. He took the mashed potatoes, plopping a few spoonfuls onto his plate before passing it on. Being a football player, he tended to take a lot more food than everyone else. He was used to it. If nothing else he had the knowledge that he wasn't taking an unhealthy amount.
He grasped Maddie's hand for a moment, squeezing it gently before realeasing her. His gaze softened to a loving caress of her eyes. He looked away quickly, remembering that her parents were there.
((Shouldn't you change your signature? She's with David now right? Or she he formally ask her out first?))
