She watched them leave thinking for a moment before looking to Alex. She tilted her head as she watched him pull out a teddy bear. It reminded her of the nights she used to lay in her bed crying with her own teddy bear that had been a gift from her father. She sighed softly and looked down at him. She reached out hesitantly and gently laid her hand on his arm. "I know, Alex, but... you were just getting so out of control." She said gently as she rubbed his arm comfortingly. She watched him for a moment in thought and looked at the teddy. "What's your teddy bear's name?" She asked gently looking back at him gently taking her hand away.

"I wasn't getting out of control I was out of control." He said as he felt her rubbing is arm. He felt himself start to relax slightly and he let his guard down. He had pretty much trained himself to avoid any kind of human contact. And even now, he still tried to avoid nurses and doctors as much as he could. It wasn't because he hated them as people. It just was that he associated them with a little incident that had happened to him years ago which had got the ball rolling with Thomas's fear. "He doesn't have a name actually." He said quietly as he looked up at her. "My dad got him for me the first time I was in the hospital years ago. I'm sure Thomas told you my whole life story though." He said as he looked across the room.

She listened to him. It made her a little bit better that he was aware of what he had becomenow. She looked down at the teeddy bear thinking of hers. She kept it hidden in her closet in a cardboard box along with several boxes of her figure skating stuff. She looked back to Alex gently and shook her head. "Actually he hasn't. All I know is that you loved basket ball and about the accident. I don't like to push people to tell me things unless I feel like I need them to." She said gently looking down at her locket in thought as she brushed her hand over her name for a moment. The picture of her father in the inside and the picture of her father by her bed where the only two things of him that she actually looked at these days because it was about all she could take.
She looked back to Alex after a moment. "Alex, why is he so afraid of hospitals?" She asked gently tilting her head as she looked at him and his teddy bear. She didn't know if Alex knew, but she figured he did. That had been bothering her ever since she had seen his reactions to the nurses and the doctors back in the hospital after Alex and Thomas's fight.

Thomas hadn't told her about his whole entire life up until now? Wow, that was a shocker and it meant that they had a lot of ground to cover in a short amount of time. Because he did not want Thomas to walk in while he was cluing Jeanette in on everything. He was about to start when he heard her next question. He had sworn to Thomas not to tell a single soul about what had led up to his fear of hospitals. And now that he thought about it he was very surprised that during it had never came out in one of the times that he was trying to get back at Thomas. It was a good thing that it hadn't because that one event had rocked the hospital and if certain things would ever come out then it would probably ruin Thomas. Not to mention he'd probably go into hiding and now, he really did not want that to happen. "I swore not to tell anybody, if he knew that I told somebody then I don't know what would happen." He said and looked over to Jeanette nervously, he knew that Thomas could end up getting so upset that bad things could happen. But, he knew that Thomas would probably start to get a little nervous when he did find somebody who would come in here. In a way, she had a right to know, since she probably was extremely puzzled about everything.
"Ok, fine I'll tell you but you probably won't believe everything. So I might as well just start from the beginning." He said and then sighed, he knew that she'd probably wonder why he was starting at the spot that he chose. But it would all become clear to her, or not since he didn't know if she'd believe what he was going to end up telling her. "When I was younger I used to have a ton of heart problems and I was in the hospital a lot. One time when I was about three or so I was forced to stay in there overnight for some reason. And for whatever reason my parents decided that Thomas had to see me while I was in there. So they bring him up to my room and it just so happens that they decided that they were going to try and do something and I decided I wasn't going to allow for it to happen and start to put up a fight. And just as Thomas and my parents get up to the room the doctors decide they're going to hold me down and do whatever. And I guess it must have been a huge shock for Thomas seeing a ton of people holding me down." He said and then sighed, he knew that she wouldn't believe that was the whole story. Well, it wasn't but he didn't want to tell her the other part to it just yet.
He took a few deep breaths and then looked over to the door to make sure that Thomas wasn't standing there before looking back over to Jeanette. "Ok, so this next part is confidential and if it got out to the general public it has the potential to ruin him. I wasn't even supposed to know about it but I found Thomas sitting in his room crying a couple years ago and he never cries. And that's when he told me everything." He said and then looked over to the door again before looking back at Jeanette, once he was sure that nobody was going to come through the door he decided to start part two of the story. "About three years ago Thomas got really sick all of a sudden and they brought him to the hospital. And when he was in the room all alone in the door the doctor comes in and-" he said before his voice broke off. He didn't know if he could bring himself to tell her to rest. "Let's just say the doctor did something he wasn't supposed to." He said and then the memory of Thomas's face as he told him came back to him. He felt as if he'd betrayed him just by telling that much.

She was about to fuss and say she had a right to know what was going on with Thomas and his problems with hospitals, but then she just stopped herself and looked around the room in thought. She looked back to him and tilted her head gently. She listened to him looking down at her le in thought as she listened. She frowned softly then looked back to Alex. Why would something like nurses and doctors holding Alex down scare Thomas? Then he continued the story. She looked to the door afraid that someone would walk in on their conversation.
She looked back to him and nodded when he said that Thomas never cried. She knew that to be partially true. She listened to him and the frown on her face deepened and she felt something tighten in her stomach. She had a bad feeling when he said he did something he wasn't supposed to. "What did he do to Thomas, Alex?" She asked gently as she tried to push the rest of the story out. If it was something serious she didn't care. She still loved Thomas. She just wanted to know what to do to try and keep him calm if he's ever in the hospital again.

He could tell that she really wanted to know what happened but he didn't know if he could say it. And he couldn't even write it out because there wasn't any paper or writing utensils in the room. "Ok, so the doctor basically molested him alight? And he didn't even try and fight he was so scared. And if it wasn't for a nurse walking in the doctor probably would have gotten away with it." He said and then stopped as he pulled the bear closer to him he felt really uncomfortable with telling Jeanette all of this. "And then, the hospital just shovels out some money to keep everybody quiet and just fires the doctor. To put things into perspective Ryan wasn't even supposed to find out about it. And I'm thinking that he just found out about it the same way I did. Since his grades dropped and he locked himself away in his room for the longest time." He said and then looked to the door, at least nobody had walked in while he said that. "So you can only imagine what was going through his head when the doctors took him away from you guys. They're lucky he didn't have a panic attack." He said before he looked over at the wall.
He'd always idolized Thomas and after finding that out things had just kind of spun out of control. Since he had never imagined somebody doing something like that to anybody. Not to mention he knew that to this day Thomas was still bothered by it. Since it was probably the main reason why Thomas had seemed so nervous after coming in here. Not to mention on a few occasions he'd woken up screaming in his sleep and had refused to tell anybody what it was about. His parents had dragged Thomas off to councilors but that hadn't worked out in their favor. Since one time Thomas had jumped out of the window in the councilors office in panic. After that they'd just left him alone.

Her mouth dropped open in an attempt to say something, but she quickly closed it and closed her eyes wishing it wasn't true. She knew it had to be though. Why else would Alex make up such a story. She looked back to him for a moment in thought. She listened further and felt her heart breaking. She was thankful that Thomas hadn't walked in during the conversation. She ran a hand through her hair in thought as she looked to the door.
It all made perfect sense to her after the way he reacted to the nurses and even the doctors while he was in the hospital. It made her heart want to break at the thought that something so horrible had happened to Thomas. She wished that there was some way for her to comfort him on, but she didn't want to get Alex into trouble with him. She started to chew on her bottom lip gently as she thought.

He watched her reaction and wondered if it was a bad thing that he had told her all of that. Because he was afraid that she'd end up somehow telling Thomas that he was the one that had told her all of that. Since that could ruin the relationship with him that he really wanted to have back again. "He almost moved away from here because he couldn't take everything. He once told me that he just wanted to die." He said quietly, it still seemed very odd that Thomas had wanted to end it all. After all, he was supposed to be the strong one who could handle things well. On a couple of times he'd talked Thomas out of doing something drastic. In turn Thomas had gotten to watch him spiral downward, almost to the point of no return. That just didn't seem fair and once again that guilty feeling came up and he had to hold the tears back. He wanted to make everything up to Thomas and the other people he'd hurt but he didn't know if that was possible.
"You might be able to bring it up though. But I don't know how good you are at lying. Since you could just say that he was talking about it in his sleep or something. I really don't know though, what I do know is that once he gets back here and somebody is with him then he'll stay about ten feet behind them. I can almost guarantee that happening." He said and then looked over at the door and waited for it to open.

She looked at Alex and listened to him. What he had just explained to her made perfect sense to her now. She frowned softly then swiped it away. She nodded gently. "I promise I won't tell him what I know unless I see that I need to, and if I do then I won't let him know that you told me." She said reassuringly as she rested her hand on his arm gently. She thought for a moment looking up to the door.
"I remember when I felt like I just wanted to die after the accident. I felt -and sometimes I still do- guilty for what happened because in a way it is my fault. I lost my father going after dreams that I can't even chase anymore because this leg weighs me down." She said gently guesturing to her leg."There are still nights where I can't sleep at all. When I do get sleep I'm lucky to get at least six hours of sleep too." She said gently looking down at her hands in though. "You know, what I said back at your place last week, about doing anything to go through what you did and still have my father, I really meant it. I would give anything to have Papa back." She said gently looking back up at him before she wiped at her eyes as she felt them water with tears. She would really hate it if Thomas and Ryan walked in on them with a doctor while she was crying.

He listened to what she said, there was so much that he could say to her. But he didn't know if he should or not since he didn't want her to have to know a lot of things about him. "It's not your fault that your accident happened. You guys were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. At least you don't have a bunch of people telling you that you need to pick up where you left off." He said and then sighed, talking to people was not the easiest thing for him anymore. Comforting somebody was like a foreign language for him and he knew that he wasn't doing a very good job of it. If only the words would come out right. He really wished that Thomas was in the room now since he certainly would know what to say. He always had, he'd just chosen not to listen to him. "You don't know how many times I wished since coming in here that I'd listened to Thomas. Or anybody for that matter, why did I have to be so..stupid." He said and then reached up and put a hand on her shoulder. "You can cry around me, people do it all the time. " He said and then heard the door open and he quickly took his hand off of her shoulder.
Ryan cautiously walked into the room, the doctor said that he'd be there in a little while and Thomas was procrastinating. He'd decided to make a little side trip outside so he could supposedly call somebody. He knew why Thomas didn't want to be around when the doctor was there though. Since he'd noticed how nervous he'd been around him, even the doctor had picked up on it. He quickly made his way over to the bed and looked down at Alex and noticed the teddy bear sitting there. He thought that Alex had gotten rid of that a long time ago and he was surprised to see it again. "The doctor will be here soon and Thomas will get back up here sometime. He had to go call somebody I guess." He said and looked over at Alex and wondered if he'd understand why Thomas wasn't around.

She looked to him and then down at her locket as her hand brushed over it. She shook her head gently. "In a way you could say that, but it still is my fault in a way. He spent so much time taking me to competitions, practices, and lessons, and even a few exhibition performances. In those three or four years he spent more of his time with me and driving me all over creation than he did with his own buisness." She said gently as she wiped at her eyes still. She looked to him when he touched her shoulder she smiled gently. "You're weren't stupid, Alex, just a little lost and confused I would have to say." She said gently looking at him. She looked up at the sound of the door opening.
She reached up and quickly wiped away at her watery eyes and smiled gently at Ryan. She listened to him and nodded. She knew very well that Thomas wasn't on the phone. It was just an excuse to get out of the building to clear his mind. She had to use excuses kind of like that when she spent those few nights in the hospital with Thomas after the fight with Alex. She stood up gently looking to Alex then back to Ryan. "I may go join him outside for a few minutes. I need some fresh air right now." She said gently as she brushed her hair out of her face. She looked at Ryan for a moment giving him a reassuring smile before she walked past him and out the door.
She slowly walked down the hallways towards the exit wiping at her watery eyes every now and then. She came to the exit and found Thomas his back was to her so she came up behind him and gently wrapped her arms around his waist softly so not to cause him any discomfort and she laid her head on his shoulder blade. " S'agapou." She said softly knowing that he wouldn't know what it meant, but she was hoping her tone gave him a good clue. She was trying to comfort him a little now that she better understood why he was so scared of hospitals. She sniffed back the tears gently. ((S'agapou= I love you))

Thomas had been off in his own little world thinking about things. And when Jeanette wrapped her arms around him he jumped slightly but as soon as he realized it he was her he relaxed. Ever since he'd came here he'd been tense and had came really close to just pacing around the hallways of the place and telling Ryan to go find somebody who could help Alex. He heard what Jeanette said and could only guess about what it meant but judging by the way she said it he had a good clue about what it meant. "You know, it's just like what I thought all along. You were the key for Alex. I think now I might believe in there being a reason for things to happen." He said quietly and then looked over to her. "I love you, and I don't know if I've said that before now but I should have." He said and then wondered if the doctor was done with Alex yet, he was going to give him plenty of time. Since he knew that he should be in that room for Alex, but he knew that if he went in there he'd probably break out in goosebumps and start to get really tense again.
For whatever reason he had a small flashback to the day that certainly had changed his life. But he quickly tried to clear his mind and get back to the present. That was easier to do when he heard Jeanette sniffing back the tears. "If you want to go now, we can I just have to go get Ryan. Since it would be very hard for me to drive now. Not to mention I'm not really supposed to." He said as he looked back at the building. He knew that Ryan would protect Alex, since he was very paranoid about leaving Alex alone with a doctor. Although he knew that had already happened he wished that it never would.

She closed her eyes and listened to him. Her eyes fluttered open and she looked up at him at his words. She moved around him and looked up at him as she gently placed her hands in the back pockets of of his jeans. "No, you haven't told me that. At least not until now." She said gently looking up at him. She smiled gently then looked down to his chest for a moment before she looked back up at him.
She reached up at wiped at her tears gently looking away from him bfore she shook her head. "No, I'm good, just that the talk me and Alex were having brought up some... memories." She said gently looking back up at him. She felt one tear slip past her guard. She didn't bother to reach up at wipe it away. "I miss him so much, and it's just so frustrating.... because I thought I had finally gotten over it all... but I haven't. I was hoping coming to America would help, but it hasn't much." She said shakily looking to the building then back to him.
She reached up and tried to dry her watery eyes before another tear could slip past her. "I don't know how, but all this going on with Alex, from the day that I met him, has shown me that I'm not even over all my guilt and pain." She said her voice wavering a little as she layed her head softly on his chest and wrapped her arms around him seeking the comfort she needed at the moment. She had hoped that coming outside would help her to calm down so that her eyes would stop watering up, but it hadn't done much good.

He wanted to know what Alex and her talked about but he figured that it was something private. Not to mention, conversations were meant to be private and if either one of them wanted to tell him that was fine. "You can't escape the memories you can get away from the scenes of things. But the memories always stay with you no matter how hard you try and block them out. And even if you do succeed in getting rid of stuff usually the good memories go and the bad ones stay." He said and then looked at her and ran his fingers through her hair as he tried to think of something to say. "What I've also learned is that you can never get rid of a problem and it's always there staring you in the face. I am sorry about your dad though, but maybe you'll never get over the loss of him. Just like I'll never get over the two year of utter pain Alex put me through." He said and then looked into her eyes, he knew that she probably would wonder why he was saying all of those things but he honestly didn't know why, or where those words were coming from.
"You know, I got the one wish that I really wanted. I got Alex back, maybe not the whole Alex but at least he doesn't try and hurt me." He said and then looked over at her again before looking over at the building. If Alex continued to improve then he'd be out of here in a short time, but he didn't know what would happen after that. Since Alex wouldn't want to hang around with him all of the time and all of his friends had been pushed away by him. "What do you wish for?" He asked curiously, before looking up at the sky.

She looked up at him and sniffed back a few tears lightly. "But the good one still hurt sometimes." She said gently taking a deep breath that helped to calm her a little. "There are some mornings when I wake up, and I think I'm back in Athens and when I walk into the kitchen he'll be there. Eating his bagel and onion flavored cream cheese, and drinking his coffee with absolutely no sugar or creamer, reading the newspaper. But then I walk into the kitchen and he's not there and that's when I remember. I remember where I am and that he'll never be sitting at the table again." She said gently looking to the building then back to him.
She sighed softly feeling relazed as he ran his hand through her hair. She closed her eyes and wiped at them taking another deep breath. "I'll never be completely over losing him. I felt like I lost a part of my heart when he died, and I don't think anything will ever be able to completely fill that hole." She said gently looking up at him. She smiled gently as she listened to him. She reached her hand up and brushed her hand over his cheek before she rested on his cheek and looked him in the eyes. "You have more of the 'Old Alex' back than you think." She said gently looking at him. She listened to his question and really considered it for a moment. She looked away thinking then looked back up at him. " I wish I had Papa back, but I know that it'll never happen. He's gone and there's nothing I can do, but keep the good memories of him. With time, and those preciouse memories I'll never forget him or his legacy." She said gently as she wrapped her hands back around his waist and rested them in his back pockets. " But, one of my wishes has already come true. I have you. You're the best thing to ever happen to me since the accident, and I never want to lose what we have." She said softly looking at his chest for a moment before she looked back up at him. And it was the truth too. She loved Thomas and she felt so good knowing that he loved her too. After all she had been through she wasn't sure she could take much more heartbreak, and she hoped it would be a long time before Thomas did anything to hurt her.
