Thomas stared through the window of the room in the mental hospital where Alex was being kept. He'd been told that Alex couldn't see them and it was clear that he couldn't hear them either. Since he'd been watching him sleep for about five minutes now and Alex hadn't even really moved. Ryan, Jeanette, and him had been cleared to go in there but that was only because the doctors had thought that it would do Alex good to see people that he was familiar with. It was just one week after Alex had been admitted and according to everybody he'd talked to he was doing really well here and was beating their expectations. He wished that he could say the same thing since he seemed to have gotten worse after being discharged from the hospital. His ribs were really bothering him and at night he slept in one position that didn't hurt him. But when he woke up in the morning his back hurt from laying in the same position for the whole night. The only encouraging news was that there bruise around his eye had started to disappear slightly.
His eyes studied Alex again as he tried to think of when would be the right time to enter the room. Since he'd been told five minutes ago that they could enter when they were ready. And he was the one who was holding everybody up. That was because he couldn't get over how things could come to this, he had secretly known a day would come when Alex would be sent here. But now that he was here is just seemed unreal. He watched as Alex shifted slightly in his sleep and it was then that he noticed the deep bruises on his arms. Apparently he hadn't escaped their little fight unharmed. He supposedly had a few marks on his shoulders from when Ryan had dug his nails into him but other then the bruises, he was fine. His father had told him how the doctors had been shocked by the poor state he was in mentally. And apparently Alex had spent the first day picking fights with whoever got too close to him. But after that he just seemed to take huge strides and according to his dad (who was the only person who had seen Alex in here before now) he was almost like the "old Alex". Except for he seemed to really be upset about the fact that he'd done so many bad things.
"Ok, if I stand around here any longer I think we'll get told to leave." He said and then quickly opened the door and walked in without looking to see is Jeanette and Ryan were following him. He figured that one of them was because he didn't hear the door shut after he entered. He cautiously made his way over to the bed Alex was sleeping on and stopped about a foot away from it. It appeared as if Alex had put on some weight but how much weight could a person put on in a week? Since he could remember seeing Alex as a living skeleton who seemed to hardly have any muscle on him. And now, he seemed to weigh a little more. Although, his skin was still that pale white color that made him seem ghostly. He cautiously placed a hand on Alex's shoulder and watched as his eyes slowly opened and he rolled over. Even though he knew that Alex couldn't hurt him here he was still bracing himself for the attack.
Alex's eyes seemed to light up once he saw Thomas and he quickly sat up. "Thomas! I can't believe it's you." He said quickly before he stood up and quickly wrapped his arms around him and only loosened his grip when he felt Thomas wince.

Jeanette looked through the window in thought as the three of them watched Alex sleeping. She looked up at Thomas at the sound of his voice and nodded. She watched him walk in and then she hesitantly followed. She didn't go any farther once she was inside the room. She just eased herself over by the doorway out of the way. She didn't want Alex distracted with her. She wanted him to talk with Thomas and not her. She brushed her hair out of her face nervously and watched as Thomas made his way to Alex's bed. She could see the bruising from the fight the other day. She hated to see that Thomas was still in so much pain. After he had been discharged from the hospital she went home and then last night she had gotten a call from Thomas and he had asked her to come, so here she was.
She watched the two and she winced in pain when she saw Alex tightly hug him. She relaxed a little though when he relaxed his grip around Thomas. If it hadn't been for the same ghostly appearance she may have not recognized him. He had gained some weight and he had been happy to see Thomas. He had jumped up and hugged him. It made her want to cry just a little to see what could possibly be the "old Alex" back. She put her hands in her jeans pockets as she watched the exchange in thought.

He couldn't remember the last time that Alex had actually been excited to see him. Even when he had been his old self he never would have jumped up and hugged him. Sure he might have came close to doing so, but he never would have done it. But he just figured that he was just that happy to see him. He felt Alex loosen his grip and he relaxed more his ribs were one of the major spots where he hurt the most. Although, he wasn't really sure when he had ended up cracking those ribs. Since it could have occurred when Alex had pulled him down or when the two were fighting on the ground with each other. He knew that the crack right underneath his eye had occurred when Alex had punched him but the rest of the events were very blurry to him. Ryan had filled him in one some of the things that had happened but he couldn't really remember anything that happened. "I missed you too Alex." He said as he started to really study Alex again. Although he had gained some weight he still looked like a skeleton slightly. But that spark that had been missing had came back to his eyes slightly. Something was different though, he could tell by the way that Alex was standing that something just wasn't right.
Alex looked down at the ground for a moment before he looked up at Thomas again. He knew that it was his fault that everything had happened and that he'd basically ruined the football season for Thomas. Since he himself knew how important the first few games were. Not to mention he'd felt him wince when he'd had his arms around him too tight. And he knew from experience how much it hurt when you broke or cracked ribs since he had both happen to him before. He then shifted his weight over to his left leg to try and keep all of the weight off of his right one. It had been really bothering him ever since the little scuffle had occurred and he had just figured that it was because of how many times he'd ended up hitting the floor. But he was beginning to think that wasn't just it for the time being he was trying to forget that it hurt but he didn't work. He just hoped that Thomas didn't pick up on it. "You must hate me after all of the things that I've done to you. I'm sorry about everything..and I really didn't want to hurt you. I was just stupid and you don't know how many times I've wished I could take everything back. You must hate me now." He said and then looked down at the ground.
Ryan had entered the room a few moments after Jeanette had and he made his way over to where she was. He watched what was going on with Thomas and Alex and he really had wanted to say something when Alex had mentioned that Thomas must hate him now. But number one, he didn't want to startle Alex and number two, he didn't want to interrupt their conversation. This was their time to try and patch things up a bit and he didn't want to get in the way.

Jeanette watched them and her head tilted as her eyes narrowed and she looked at Alex watching his movements. Something about this didn't seem right. She could see a light in his eyes that hadn't been there all the other times she had seen him, but still something just didn't feel right. She watched and a soft frown crossed her face at Alex's words. Thomas had never hated Alex and she didn't think he had it in his heart to hate him. He had done everything he could to make him better and he was finally getting the help he needed.
She looked up at Ryan and gave him a gentle smile then her green eyes fell back to the two brothers. She kept shifting her weight from her left leg every few moments. She had just been having an all out bad day with her left leg and she couldn't figure out why. She had taken her pain killers earlier to try and avoid any pain, but they weren't working like they normally did. Her hand reached down and brushed over scars that were hidden under her jeans subconciously as she watched Thomas and Alex.

Alex thought that he hated him? Sure he would have loved to really hate him at times but he just couldn't do it. Since he knew that the Alex that acted out and hurt people wasn't the true Alex. "I don't hate you, I've never hated you." He said quietly and then put a hand on Alex's shoulder once again. It felt really odd not to have Alex tense up the moment his hand touched him. "I forgive you just don't ever do anything like this again. Because you punch people really hard." He said and then looked over to where Jeanette and Ryan were. They could come closer if they really wanted to since he didn't mind. Not to mention he wanted to know how Alex would react to being around Jeanette since he never had really gotten the chance to know her. And he had known Ryan so he'd probably react in a similar way as he had to when he had first saw him.
There actually was two things that Alex was trying to hide from Thomas, one was the fact that it was hard to forget about the pain in his leg. The other one was that he was either coming down with something or the room was freezing. Since goosebumps were starting to appear on his arms. He heard what Thomas said and a few tears appeared in his eyes, it meant a lot for him for Thomas to just forgive him like that. "You really mean it?" He said as a few tears slid down his face and then he looked around the room for a moment. It was then that he spotted Ryan and Jeanette and he knew that there was probably a reason why they were back there. He managed to smile slightly before looking back at Thomas. It was then that he shifted his weight back over to his right leg for a split second before he quickly shifted it back to his left. But that split second had been a little too much for him and he winced before he quickly steadied himself. He knew that Thomas was bound to have noticed that, he just hoped he wouldn't get too worried and leave. Because he really wanted him to stay.

She smiled gently as she continued to shift the weight back and forth to ease her pain a little. She smiled gently when Thomas looked back to her and Ryan. She watched Alex's reaction and she gave him a gentle smile as well before he looked back to Thomas. She watched Alex noticing him shift his weight then the short wince that came from it. She steopped a little closer a little more cautiously. "Is your leg bothering you, Alex?" She asked gently watching for his reaction.
She hadn't really wanted to interupt the moment, but she knew how Alex felt if his leg was bothering him. They seemed to be going through the same thing today. She slowly moved closer to them and she looked to Thomas for a moment then back to Alex.

Alex heard her question and he simply nodded he knew that Thomas would probably become worried about him now. But he didn't have to be, he had gotten used to this kind of thing happening often. Although, usually his left leg didn't start to really bother him too much. Now it was though and he wondered why that was. Maybe it was because for the past few days he had kept most of his weight on it. "It always bothers me though. My left leg is now though and that's the scary part." He said and then turned and began to slowly make his way back to where the bed was. Maybe it he could just sit down for awhile the pain would go away, he knew that usually didn't work in the past. But he wanted to do anything possible to make Thomas stay longer. And if he could trick him into thinking that he was fine once he was sitting down then he wouldn't leave. "Usually it only gets really bad during the winter." He said as he took a few more steps toward the bed, the limp in his step was very prominent and he was glad that nobody could see how much pain was on his face. As soon as he stopped though he just couldn't get going again, that wasn't good.
A worried look came upon Ryan's face as he heard Alex's answer to Jeanette's question and he quickly made his way toward the two. Since he knew that neither Jeanette or Thomas would really be able to assist Alex. Although he knew that Thomas would like to, he couldn't really pick Alex up or anything. So that was where he came in, he just hoped that Alex would be accepting of him as he had with Thomas. He quickly made his way over to Alex when he stopped. "You should still be light enough that I can pick you up. Since I'm not going to let you hurt yourself by walking all the way over there." He said and the quickly picked Alex up and carried him over to the bed and set him down gently. "There we go, now that's solved." He said and looked back to where Thomas was. At least Alex had gotten over his little thing about people putting their hands on him thing. Then again, he probably still didn't allow doctors or nurses too. Or at least, he didn't like it. But he knew that Thomas and him were the same way, they'd put up a fight until it was over with.

She watched him for a moment in thought. She nodded in understanding. She felt like her pains in her leg were worse in the winter than in the summer as well and damp weather never helped the matter that much. "Soaking in some warm water and epsom salts helps sometimes." She said sweetly as she wached him. She looked up to Ryan as he made his way over. She moved over to Thomas and took his hand giving it a gentle squeeze as she looked at him for a moment then back to Alex.
A look of utter shock crossed her face as she watched Ryan lift him up and carry him to his bed. That was the first time that she had ever seen Alex let anybody put one little finger on him muchless carry him. She looked to Thomas and smiled gently before looking back to Alex with a soft smile on her features.

Alex curled up under the covers on the bed before he looked over to the three of them again. "I don't think that something like that could happen here though." He said and then looked up at the ceiling, he was unsure about telling them the next part. "Two days ago I got up, took a few steps and then just fell down. It was like everything gave out all at once. I should have tried harder in physical therapy." He said and then wiggled farther down under the covers. He hated how all of his mistakes were coming back to him now, a few times since he'd been here he had thought about trying to play basketball again. But with the way his leg was bothering him he figured that was just a distant dream. Not to mention he knew that if he messed up then he'd probably never try again. He'd just say that he didn't have the urge to play anymore or something. Although people would find that hard to believe they would just have to, since he knew that if he wasn't as good as he once was then it would be a waste of time to play.
Alex had fallen? That hadn't happened in a long time and now he was simply trying to hide the look of fear on his face. The last time that he could remember Alex falling was a short while after the doctors had cleared him for walking again. But he hadn't had the will to pick himself up and he hadn't wanted anybody to help him up. In the end his father had but that was because he had insisted that he couldn't just lay on the floor for the rest of his life. He should have known then that something was terribly wrong. He had just thought that it was Alex feeling sorry for himself and that he'd get over it. Things had only gone downhill from there, up until now. He made his way over to the edge of the bed and sat down. "At least you were able to get up after you fell. Since when Ryan falls he needs help getting up or he just goes to sleep." He said as he tried to get Alex to laugh, or at least smile slightly. And he did, a tiny smile appeared on Alex's face again.

She nodded her head gently in understanding. She gave him a gentle smile. "You can always try it once you get out of here." She said gently and sweetly. She listened to what he said and nodded her head gently. "That happens to me and I'm still doing physical therapy. That's just something thats kind of unavoidable when you have a bunch of metal even in just one leg." She said gently looking at him and then up at Thomas.
She smiled gently and covered her mouth to hide a laugh as she looked to Ryan chuckling softly. She looked back to Thomas and watched him. She walked over to the bed and squatted down infront of Thomas and Alex and looked at him. She reached into her bag and pulled out a set of beads. It was too big to be a bracelet, but it was definately too small to be a necklace. where the leather rope met and tied there were beads knotted on the end. "I made you these. They're called worry beads. You just... kind of mess around with them really when you need something for your hands to do." She said gently as she demonstrated by swinging them around for a minute before she held them out to Alex. "They make a nice rear-veiw mirror decoration too when you're not using them." She said sweetly before looking up to Thomas. She hadn't told Alex or Ryan about the worry beads. She had just been thinking about Alex when Thomas had invited her to join him and Ryan on the tri to see him and that's when she had made him the worry beads. She figured he would use them a lot while he was there.

"I've been out of physical therapy and I really don't have too much metal in me. Just a couple of pins and that's it." Alex said and then wondered why is was that he had just fallen out of the blue. Sure his leg had been bothering him a lot that day but could he really fall because of that? The only time that he'd fallen before was when his leg muscles were even smaller then they were now. He knew that Thomas felt really guilty about everything that had happened, but he didn't have to be. None of everything that had occurred throughout the years was Thomas's fault. All of it was his since he'd pushed everybody away and singlehandedly hurt everybody. He knew that there was a very long list of people that he'd physically hurt and he wondered if he could make it up to all of them. He knew that he'd probably never make things up fully for Thomas because he was the one who he'd probably hurt the most, and tried to hurt the most. He eyes the object that Jeanette brought out curiously and listened to what she said. It felt really odd for somebody to be doing something like that for him. "Thanks", he simply said as he cautiously reached out and took the beads from her. "I don't have a car though, and never really had the desire to learn how to drive though." He said and then cautiously looked over to where Thomas was before shivering slightly.
Thomas had heard Jeanette chuckling and he knew the reason why that was. Apparently she too had thought that what he'd said about Ryan was funny. He watched as everything went on between Alex and Jeanette silently. He could tell that Alex was still a little nervous around her but he figured that was to be expected because of the fact that he honestly didn't know her too well. He noted Alex shiver and he wondered if he was getting sick or was just cold. "It is kind of cold in here." He said as he finally noticed that it was colder in here then what it probably should have been. Either that or everywhere else was just really warm.

She smiled gently and nodded at Alex. "Well, then consider yourself lucky. My entire leg's practically metal." She said gently watching him. She looked to the worry beads and then up at Alex and she smiled sweetly. She nodded. "You're welcome." She said sweetly as she watched him look to the worry beads then she looked back up at him. She nodded her head gently. "I know what you mean, but look at it this way. At least you didn't have to fly on a plane for around twenty hours after your accident. Planes are more cramped than cars are." She said gently looking at him.
She looked up at Thomas after she noticed Alex shiver and she nodded in agreement. "It is a little cool." She said gently as she rubbed her arms gently. She stood up gently and sat down on the bed next to Thomas and looked from him to Alex. She needed to get weight off of her left leg and she figured maybe Alex wouldn't mind her sitting down on his bed. She could tell he was a little nervouse about her, but this was the first time that she had actually seen the "old Alex". She brushed some of her hair out of her face.

He didn't have anything against planes it just was that he was severely alert in cars. Every little noise seemed to make him jump and it was the reason why he was never really in vehicles anymore. The fifteen minute ride over here had been hard enough since number one, he'd known where he was going and number two, he was really paranoid that something would happen. One time his mother and him had been going somewhere and she'd decided that she'd take the exit where the accident happened. That hadn't went over too well he'd basically had a small breakdown on her while still in the car. His dad had avoided that exit on the way over here but he thought it had actually saved them time. "It's just cars that I don't like for obvious reasons." He said and then shifted a little and winced again. He knew that he couldn't hold the pain in for much longer. Which meant that Thomas or somebody would have to go get somebody to check his leg out. "Thomas, would you mind getting somebody in here? My leg's killing me." He said and then looked over at him pleadingly. He knew that Thomas hated basically any form of medical personnel which meant that Ryan would probably end up going with him. And he didn't think that Jeanette would sick around in here.
"Sure Alex, if your leg's hurting that bad then it had to get looked at." Thomas said and then slowly got up and made his way over to the door. "Ryan, would you mind coming with me. You can too if you want to Jeanette." He said and then quickly opened the door and left the room.
((Short but my muse is a little iffy.))

She watched him for a moment and nodded. "If you don't like being in cars for that reason you really wouldn't like being in planes." She stated gently looking at him. "I don't like small enclosed spaces at all because of my accident." She said gently looking at him. She looked at Thomas when he asked if he could get a doctor. She watched him stand and then looked to Ryan for a moment before looking back to Thomas.
She shook her head gently. "I'll stay here and keep Alex company while ya'll do that." She said gently rubbing her hands together and then sticking them between her knees. The truth was she just didn't want to stand at the moment. Her leg was really bothering her and she didn't want to walk if she didn't have to. She looked back to Alex and gave a sweet comforting smile.

Alex watched as Ryan got up and followed Thomas out of the room. Now it was just Jeanette and him in the room and he reached over to the other side of his bed and he pulled the teddy bear out that had been shoved in the corner of his bed. He hadn't really wanted Thomas to see if because he hadn't wanted him to think of a fragile person who could break at any given moment (although it was true at the moment). "It's so lonely here, and I honestly don't even know where I am here. Not to mention it's really scary here." He said and then pulled the bear closer to him, his dad had gotten the bright idea about him wanting it and had brought it over the day after he'd been admitted here. He was surprised that they'd let his dad in here so soon because of the day before. When he'd still been letting all of his built up frustration out and he now felt really sorry about everything. The thing that he felt the worst about was all that he had done to Thomas.
