Ryan looked a little taken aback by her forwardness, people often were, she found. Though she had gotten the desired response out of him and that was what mattered. She wasn't the type of girl to blush and go crazy over a compliment from a boy, but it made her smile all the same. She was looking forward to their little party later - alcohol would show him who the real MacKenzie was.
"Thanks a lot," she grinned, trying to act at least a little humble. She knew her egotistical nature could be off-putting, and tended to intimidate guys who didn't know her well.
"Yeah, nice car," she winked at him.

"I know, I'm actually a little surprised that they got me it because I didn't know that they'd trust me enough to get me one so expensive. But I guess that they thought that I needed a decent car." He said and them walked the rest of the way over to it and unlocked it before getting in. The first thing that he did was start it up and turn the air conditioner on. It was a little humid today and he hated to ride in a car that was really warm on the inside. He didn't turn the radio on though because he figured that MacKenzie could turn it on if she wanted to. He knew that he was really lucky that everything had happened to him today because he'd came out to the mall just to spend some money and here he was taking a girl to get a tattoo. People probably would never believe this but he didn't care since he knew the truth. He wondered how long their party would last, since he'd been to parties that lasted for a very long time. But, considering that it was just the two of them it probably would only last for a few hours or so.
((Short but I didn't want to power play))

MacKenzie climbed into his car and automatically turned her favorite radio station up full blast, hoping Ryan didn't mind. She loved music and didn't do anything without a catchy song on in the background.
"I feel like I know you well already. Is that crazy?" she asked him, wondering if he would be scared off by her honesty.
She began fidgeting with her heels and tried to think of something to say that wasn't too forward.
"So, tell me, is this gonna hurt?" she asked, smiling at him again. She liked that he made her smile.
As they pulled up at the tattoo place, she looked at him, waiting for his response to her genuine query. She had a pretty high pain tolerance but she still wasn't sure what to expect.

"No, that's not crazy because I feel like I know you really well too. I don't know why that is, maybe it's because we both have some of the same interests or something." He said and then looked at her, she seemed to be really honest. So he might as well be too since she was. "Then again, we can both just be crazy together." He said and then smiled at her, now some would consider that flirting but he really didn't he just considered it starting the facts. He then heard her next question, he really hadn't thought that getting a tattoo hurt, but then again maybe she would think that it hurt. "I really didn't think that it hurt too much it'll hurt for a little bit when they first start but you'll get used to it right away." He then parked the car and then turned it off he really didn't think that they would be here too long since it didn't look like the place was busy. "Might I ask where you're going to get this tattoo because it might hurt more if you get it on your wrist or something." He asked as he looked over at her he figured that she was going to get it on a shoulder or something and he really didn't think that it would hurt if she got it there.

"Yeah, maybe you're right about being crazy together. You're just so spontaneous like me... it's awesome," she said.
She began to get a little more nervous as she got out of the car. It finally hit her that she was going to have a permanant scar on her body, a permanant reminder of a day spent with a boy she had just met. She hoped that her and Ryan didn't end up hating each other - if that happened, her tattoo would always remind her of him, and that might not be a good thing.
For some reason, she still wanted to do this, it just made sense in her head. Her friends would never believe the day she'd had, she thought, laughing a little out loud and then noticing Ryan looking at her.
"I was just thinking of how crazy this day has been," she explained.
Ryan had asked her where she wanted her tattoo... she realized she hadn't even thought that far ahead, and thought about how strange that was.
"I dunno," she started, "My hip maybe...?"

He got out of the car and locked it and thought about what she had said. It was rather nice that the two of them were so much alike in a way. It meant that he really didn't have to worry about doing things with her. Sure he wasn't going to call her up at one in the morning and ask her to go out for breakfast or something. Number one, he was usually at a party at one in the morning or he was sleeping. Number two, that idea just seemed really weird to him I mean who honestly would go out for breakfast at one a.m.? "Yeah this day has been pretty crazy if you really think about it. But it's a good crazy because if I hadn't met you then I probably would have spent money alone and that can be really boring at times." He said and then wondered how many people would actually believe all of this would happen. But they needed to understand that with him, almost anything could happen. But sometimes the unexpected happened, even to him.
"Your hip would be a pretty good spot, not to mention that it would make your dad pretty mad it that's what your goal is. Either that or you could go with your shoulder blade or ankle." He said as he started to make his way toward the shop. It would be interesting to see if she got a large butterfly or a smaller, more feminine one.

As they approached the tattoo shop, MacKenzie thought about Ryan's suggestions for body parts to get her tattoo on, and decided she was going to go with her original idea. "Yeah, hip, I think," she nodded, smiling at the thought of having a new tattoo on her body. "And I want it to be black and pink," she added quickly.
She thought about what an amazing day she'd had so far - new shoes AND she was going to have a new tattoo, and most importantly she'd made a new friend in Ryan Andrews. She could envisage the two of them hanging out often, partying and shopping.
Without thinking, she reached for Ryan's hand, as they wandered into the tattoo shop, and over to the wall to choose a design.

"Getting it on a hip is good but I've got to warn you it might hurt a little. Now that I think about it, after this you and me might be the only juniors that have tattoos. Although I could be wrong about that." He said and then watched as she reached his reached for his hand again. So, he simply reached over and took her hand. He followed her over to the wall and nodded and waved to the person at the counter in the shop. It was the same person that had been in here when he'd came in here a few months ago. So he was sure that they'd have no problems and that the person wouldn't try and kick him out this time. Not to mention, they'd been very happy when he'd pulled out his father's credit card then. So he knew that they'd be happy again, he knew that MacKenzie and him probably looked like a couple because they were holding hands. But he really didn't care if people thought that.
"So, do you mind if I shorten your name up a bit?" He asked, knowing that she might not want her name shortened. But MacKenzie was something that he knew he'd have trouble pronouncing if he ended up getting drunk. So maybe if he shortened it up to Kenzie he wouldn't have that problem.

MacKenzie flicked through pages of designs with her free hand, eventually finding a page of butterflies. She glanced over the designs and noticed quite a few she liked, specifically a medium sized black and pink one with curved wings. "This is pretty," MacKenzie said to Ryan, and then added, "I have a pretty high pain tolerance so I think I might be okay."
She smiled when Ryan suggested shortening her name. Lots of people called her Kenzie, so it wasn't a problem at all. Sure, she replied, Loads of people call me Kenzie if that's any good?
MacKenzie had another glance over the page of designs, but she felt like she had made the right decision.
"I want this one, its perfect," she smiled.

He looked at the tattoo that she said was pretty and nodded. It was rather pretty, and he did have to admit whoever had made it did a very good job of it. "Yeah, I've got a pretty high pain tolerance too. But if you need me to talk you through everything I will. If not I'll just sit back and casually flip through magazines or something." He said and then nodded again Kenzie was just fine. "Yeah, Kenzie works for me. You can't really shorten my name up any but feel free to if you really want to." He said knowing that a couple of people ended up just calling him by his last name for some reason. "Well, if that one's perfect for you then I guess that we'd better get this whole process started." He said and then watched as the head tattoo artist came out from a door in the back. He waved him over and watched as he did a double take, as if he couldn't believe that he was back here. "Don't worry, he does a good job he's a little pricey but hey, it's not like I'm strapped for cash." He said and then smiled at her.
He watched as the artist came over to him first. "No, it's not me this time. It's my friend Kenzie here. Don't worry, you'll still get the pleasure of using my dad's credit card for the bill." He said and then watched as the man moved over to where MacKenzie was.
((btw, feel free to rp the artist. )

MacKenzie nervously smiled at the artist, "Yeah, I'm Kenzie. I want this butterfly, on my right hip, if that's cool. Sorry, it's my first tattoo, I'm a little nervous."
The artist nodded, and said, "Okay, I'm just gonna get your design ready, then we'll get the area cleaned up and start."
MacKenzie looked a little anxiously at Ryan - she was excited but nervous as well. She knew the rumor about her tattoo would be all round school by tomorrow, which irritated her slightly. Just for once in her life, she wanted to do something without everyone gossiping about it. Then again, if it was someone else, she'd gossip about today, it had been crazy.
Before she got lost in thought, the tattoo artist came back, and began cleaning up her hip, before putting the transfer of the design on her, and asking, "Is this okay?"
"Yeah, that should be fine," she replied, smiling at Ryan, and lay down, preparing to be tattooed.

"At least you're sober while getting your first tattoo. I was just a little bit drunk when I got mine. I wasn't that bad though I just had a small alcohol in me at the time." He said knowing that a little bit for him was enough to probably get some other people so drunk they'd do random things. He smiled back at MacKenzie before he dug his cell phone out and noticed that he had one new voicemail. So, he might as well listen to it while he was here. As soon as the voicemail started he realized that it was just somebody calling to say hello he he simply hung the phone up. He honestly wanted to know how so many people got his number. Since he didn't give it out to people at parties, most of the time. Then again maybe those few people that he did give it out to passed his number around or something. It wouldn't surprise him if that was what really did happen.
"You don't have to be nervous though, this place is the best place in the area to get one. Because they actually know what they're doing." He said and knew that she was probably more anxious and excited then she was nervous. Buthe might as well reassure her that things would be fine.

"I'm sure the alcohol would have meant it hurt less," she smiled.
The tattoo artist had everything ready now and was waiting for her to tell him to start.
"You ready?" he asked, and the truth was that she didn't know the answer to that question yet. She could hear Ryan telling her the guy was good, trying to calm her down, and she thought that was really considerate of him. For some reason, she trusted Ryan, which she guessed was probably crazy, given all the trash that was written about him in the gossip column.
What they failed to mention in the gossip column was that Ryan was an amazing guy.
Smiling, she looked up at the tattoo artist, a big built guy with a lot of tattoos himself.
"Yeah go for it," she said, and grinned at Ryan.

"It did, but it like I've already told you it didn't hurt too much. Actually one I got used to it I started laughing because it tickled. If somebody would have walked in here that day they probably would have thought that I was mad." He said and then laughed slightly at the memory, he hadn't really squirmed around when it had started to tickle he'd just stayed perfectly still and started laughing. The artist had simply rolled his eyes and went about his business. He knew that all of them were probably relieved that it wasn't him getting one today unless they wanted a repeat performance of that. He heard the artist ask if she was ready and he knew that everything would be over before they knew it. "Now as long as you don't hit me I'll stay this close to you. Since I really don't want to tell people that the reason I've got a bruise is because I was hit by a girl." He said and grinned back at her as he waited for things to start.

The artist put the needle on her skin, and drew the first line on her hip. It was a strange sensation, not really painful, just odd. She listened to Ryan telling the story about how he had laughed when getting his tattoo done, and suddenly she wanted to laugh as well.
For some reason she did laugh, and looked at Ryan as she did so. "It feels weird," she giggled, and looked down, squinting to try and see what the artist had done.
"What does it look like, Ryan?" she asked when suddenly the artist went over her hip bone and she squealed a little because it hurt.
"Ouch. I'm starting to wish I was drunk now," MacKenzie joked.
