Thomas stared at the apartment complex from just outside of his truck, he was running on time, since it was just six fifty five and he had to be here before seven. He'd chosen this time because by the time they got out to where they were going the sun would be ready to set. Also, it meant he could get out of the house before his mother got home and asked where he was going so dressed up. She knew that he hated to get even slightly dressed up. Ok, so he hadn't told her that he was no longer single but it was because of one simple reason. She'd probably try and interfere with things and absolutely ruin things. He knew that she didn't like the fact that he disagreed with her one almost everything. And usually, if he calmly tried to discuss things with her she'd twist his words around and then the two would get into a shouting match before he stormed off somewhere else to be alone. But he wasn't going to let anything ruin tonight, not even the event that had happened a few days before. He wasn't even sure he was going to tell Jeanette about it, unless she noticed how he seemed to be walking a little differently. Of course that was due to the rather large bruise on his right knee.
Once again he'd gotten some stupid idea that he'd be able to speak with Alex. Like that had turned out, he'd gotten a baseball whipped at his right knee. Then he'd either shifted his weight to fast or simply fallen, he didn't know which either way he'd ended up hitting the floor. What he heard next was still in his head today and each time he thought of it he shivered slightly. Alex had started laughing at him, and the sound of it had made a cold feeling wash over him. He shook his head to forget what had happened next and looked at his watch, he'd just burned a minute thinking about that when it was no use, you couldn't reverse the past. He then began to make his way from the parking lot and toward the apartment complex. As soon as he entered the building he took his sunglasses off and began to play with them while holding them. Before he knew it the number for the apartment was right in front of his face. After taking a deep breath he knocked on the door and waited for an answer while he checked his appearance once again. He'd always been a little self conscious about the way that he looked and now he was worried about if he had chosen the right outfit.
He'd spent about an hour going through his cloths before he finally found the shirt that he was looking for buried in the back of his closet. It was a simple light blue dress shirt that he had to beg his sister to iron for him. Then he'd dug around before finding a nice pair of jeans, after all she had said that he didn't have to dress up too much right? And if he was in something other than jeans he probably would really be agitated right now. After that he'd had the difficult task of deciding if he should even try and dig around for a tie. It was his sister that had firmly told him that he needed one. Then she promptly found one, how was it that she knew where everything was and he didn't? Well, he knew that she liked to dig around and find cloths that didn't fit him, especially shirts and claim them as her own. And after doing all of that for him, he'd told her that he owed her one. She had said it was her job as a younger sister but he hadn't believed that so he'd tossed twenty dollars at her and told her to go buy her own cloths since that was one of his old t shirts she had on. After that they'd chased each other around the house for about ten minutes before he'd decided that he'd better call Branden and ask for a major favor.
After about ten minutes of trying to get ahold of him he'd given up and simply called the next person who could help him, Sean. It turned out that Branden was at his grandfather's house helping him train some hunting dog and that was why his cell phone was off. A few minutes later he'd heard his cell phone start to ring and it was no surprise to him that it was Branden calling to confirm that his part of the little plan for tonight was done. Well, actually it was more like Branden's grandfather's part. And once again he realized that his mind was drifting so he tried to focus on something until somebody came to the door. But it was so hard to do, he could tell that he was overly nervous. And when he got nervous he paced but he refused to do that now. He resisted the urge to knock again and forced himself to keep staring at the door.

She was just finishing her make-up when she heard Marli bark at the door at the sound of a knock. She shouted something from the bathroom that joined hers and Nils's room. The dog went quiet and back to her pillow in her corner as Nils walked out of his room in just a pair of jeans and answered the door. He looked worn out with dark circles under his eyes. He wasn't adjusting to the time change as quickly as Jeanette had. "Hey, man. You can come on in and just sit and wait. She's not ready yet. She's painting her face" He said in a thick deep greek accent that had a layer of grogginess to it.
She heard Nils talking to him and frowned as she put the last touches of her make-up on. She came out a moment later after looking at herself. Her mom had done her hair up in a cute clip with a flowers on it and swept all her hair to the left side of her head and clipped it into place with her hair and bobby pins. She took a deep breath and stepped out of the bathroom down the hall to the living room where Nils and Thomas were. She was wearing a nice baby blue button up blouse that she had rolled the sleeves up to her elbows and a denim and black skirt. The wide waist band was denim while the restof the skirt was made of a loose black fabric that fell to her knees and she wore a pair of black flats that matched perfectly.
She walked up to him and gave him a small once over and she smiled gently. "You didn't have to wear a tie. You can make it a comfortable formal for yourself." She said sweetly as she reached up and undid it for him taking it off and looking at it then up at him. She smiled sweetly and nodded her approval. She realized they matched a little and giggled some. "You look really nice." She said sweetly as she leaned up and gave him a peck on the cheek. She looked over at Nils as he walked back to her room. She said something to him in Greek and chuckled when he shot something back. She looked back to Thomas and took his hand gently. "So where are you taking me?" She asked sweetly as she picked up her purse and put it over her shoulder and led him out of the apartment. She looked up to him as they walked down to the main lobby.

He jumped slightly when the door opened but was slightly relieved to see that it wasn't actually Jeanette it was her brother. At least she hopefully wouldn't know how jumpy he'd been. Of course she probably would pick up a little on his nervousness but he knew that throughout the night he would calm down. In fact, he'd probably start to really calm down as soon as he saw her. He actually really didn't know why he was so nervous in the first place, maybe it was because this was the first actual date he was going on in a long time. Or perhaps it was because he was scared that he'd under dressed a lot. Although he knew what the main cause of all of this nervousness was, on the way to their location they'd have to go past the area that he tried to avoid. It was the area where his dad and Alex had been in that accident right sure he didn't know the exact location but he knew it was close to where you had to get onto the interstate if you wanted to take a faster route down to the other cities in the area. And if you went about twenty miles in the opposite direction you'd find the bridge that his old vehicle had unexpectedly met on that rainy night two years ago.
"I should have known that my sister takes about ten extra minutes to get going because she had to put a ton of makeup on herself. Then she'll have to triple check her appearance and make sure that everything is perfect." He said before he finally stopped playing with his sunglasses. Kelly certainly did take pride in her appearance and it made him wonder if she'd insisted on him wearing a tie because she wanted it to be payback for him suddenly leaving at some unknown time in the middle of the night. Of course he knew that if she would have tried to talk to him then it wouldn't have happened because he'd truly been out of it. He hadn't even known that he'd left the house until he'd woken up on a park bench. That had been the night that the whole Alex incident had went down and he certainly did not want to repeat it. But once again he realized that he'd promised himself not to even think about his brother so he pushed those thoughts aside and waited for Jeanette to appear.
When she did appear he studied her appearance carefully and realized that he really hadn't under dressed that much. He laughed slightly when he heard her say that he could make it a comfortable formal. "Could you tell I dislike ties then? My sister's the one who insisted that I wear one." He said and then smiled at her and heard what she said next and had been about to speak before she leaned up to kiss his cheek. "Yes, I do suppose that I clean up pretty decently. You're just lucky you didn't see me a few days ago since I looked a little scruffy. You clean up pretty nice yourself though." He said and thought back to the words that had been exchanged in Greek. "Do I want to know what your brother and you were just saying to each other?" He asked curiously, before hearing her next question. He might as well tell her where they were going since he knew that he wouldn't be able to keep it a secret for very long. "Well, it was supposed to be a surprise but I don't think that's going to happen. We're off to a private lake to go watch the sun set. How do I have access to a private lake you ask? Let's just say that Branden's grandfather donated it to us for the night. The gate should be unlocked so I can just drive right in." He said before digging his keys out of his pocket.
((Yeah while doing my profile overhaul I decided that I was going to make it so that he lived here all of his life.))

She smiled sweetly and nodded gently. "I gathered as much from the e-mail. Well I'm insisting that you don't have to if you don't want to." She said sweetly as she looked up at him sweetly. "If you want to you can roll up your sleeves a little, and unbotton your collar some too." She said sweetly with a soft chuckled. "Well considering the last time we saw eachother I was hungover and sick to my stomach I would have to say this is definately cleaned up." She said giggling gently. She smirked some and shook her head. "Don't worry about it. I was just asking him to take care of something for me while I was gone." She said sweetly as they exited the complex and went to his truck.
She looked at him and smiled brightly at the thought of sunset on that lake. She looked at him and smiled gently. "Sounds perfect. I'll have to thank Branden and his grandfather afterwards." She said sweetly as she laid her head on his shoulder for a moment. She looked around then back to him. "Nils wasn't pleased to hear about this, but Mama couldn't help but be overjoyed. She helped me pick out my clothes and she did my hair. It was the first time we've done anything like that in a long time." She said sweetly looking up at him. Her mother hadn't done that kind of stuff since her first boyfriend asked her out on a date. She was glad that her mom had reacted how she had about Thomas. He was a good guy and she couldn't help but be happy around him.
Her mother had been a very well known hairdresser before she moved to the states. She had loved it too. She hated that her mom pulled herself away from that. She had said that the owner of the place was starting to dislike her though. So many of the costumers were asking for her instead of the owner. Jealousy could be such a horrible thing sometimes. She knew that her mother wanted to open up her own place here, but she didn't exactly have the money yet. She was working hard at a resturant at the Boardwalk to get the money though.

Oh yes, he certainly did not want to wear that tie not that there was anything wrong with it. But he didn't like how it made him look a little too, well not like himself. Although he did know plenty of guys that loved looking formal, or so it seemed. Of course one of those people was Branden, and it appeared as if every time he talked to him his dad was throwing some party that was really formal. Now that he thought about it though he'd never asked him if he liked dressing up though but he just assumed that he did. Either that or he just got used to it after being stuck at the parties for years now. "Well, you are right this whole formal stuff if really overrated." He said before rolling his sleeves up to his elbows and unbuttoning his collar. Now he felt a lot more comfortable and considering that he was wearing a nice pair of tennis shoes he felt completely relaxed now. Since he sometimes did take dress shirts and run around in them like this, but that was only when he was really trying to impress a girl which was rare. Since most girls just completely fall for him without that much work.
"Yeah well, the last time that you saw me I was laying in a tunnel in the playground at the elementary school. Then again, you probably don't remember that so let's just say the last time you saw me was when you finally started to come around at the beach." He said before unlocking his truck his mother hadn't been too happy when he hadn't came home that night but he'd just told her that he had been at a friends house. He hadn't even told his dad the truth since he hadn't wanted him to have to keep a secret. Besides there were plenty of other things that his parents didn't know about and never would find out about. Like how he hadn't stayed home when they'd asked him to while they were gone. Nobody knew that he'd left the house in the middle of the night and only one other person knew that. "Ok then, I'm not going to worry about it then." He said but he still was wondering what he had to take care of for her then. It probably was something minor that he didn't have to be concerned about but he still was.
"I can guarantee that if you thank either one of them that they'll say the same thing, that it was nothing. But we'd better get going unless you'd rather watch the sun set here." He said and thought about what she said about her brother not being too happy about tonight. Did he think that he wouldn't get Jeanette back safely or something? Of course, he knew that if somebody decided that they were going to take his sister out on a date that he wouldn't be too happy about it either. He'd probably play twenty questions with them and then tell them that if they didn't get back by a set time that he'd go out looking for the two. That was just the overprotective older brother coming out in him though. "He wasn't, well that's not good. But it's good to know that your mother likes me anyway." He said before opening the drivers side door and getting in.

She smiled sweetly and nodded. "Yes, it is very much over rated, but I like to get dressed up every now and then. It depends on the occassion normally." She said sweetly as she looked up at him for a moment. She giggled sweetly at his next commen and scrunched up her nose. She remembered bits and peices of before sobering up some. "Yeah, but you weren't drunk or hungover so you looked to be in much better shape than me." She got into serious trouble with her mom, but she had told her that she went to a party and had a little to much to drink so she just crashed at a friends place. If her mom found out what really happened she would have had a cow. Nils knew what really happened because he knew about the fight between her and him. She didn't say anything about it to her mom because she didn't want to get Nils into trouble. It had been well worth it to get in trouble about it though. Had she never gotten so mad with Nils then who knows when Thomas told her about his real feelings towards her. "That lovely kiss was probably what brought me around. We probably wouldn't be having this date if I hadn't shown up at the playground sick." She said looking at him smiling sweetly.
She smirked gently and nodded. "I promise it doesn't concern you. I was asking him to tack care of my parrot, or else she would drive him and Mama crazy all night or until I get home." Lucy did tend to be annoying if somebody didn't feed her and play wither her. She normally left her caged when she isn't around, but when she's home Lucy sits on her shoulder the majority of the time or the branch perch she has in the living room. She looked at him as he started to get in. She reached for the seatbelt and clicked it into place. She tried to push her skirt down over her knee to hid her brace, but it wasn't much use. She knew he knew about the accident and why she had the brace, but she still felt a little self concious of it. "No way, I want to see the sun set over the lake." She said sweetly as she walked over to the truck and started to get in
"That's just the big brother overprotectiveness thing. You would be the same way if some guy was taking out your sister. He trusts you a lot more than the last two guys though." She said sweetly as she looked up at him. He had confessed that Thomas seemed like a good guy compared to the other two, but he still had to have that edgy overprotective brother feel for a while. "Mama just loved that I was letting her do my hair. She helped me pickout the skirt and she lent me her favorite pair of shoes for this. Normally I would have to beg her for something like that. She hasn't done anything like this since my very first date." She said sweetly as she looked up at him. She leaned over and kissed him on the cheek sweetly. "So I would consider that as a good sign." She told him sweetly then looked to the apartment complex thinking for a moment. "So are we going to do anything after the sun set or are we just going to sit there holding eachother for a while?" She asked curiously as she smiled at him.

He hated to get dressed for everything, it didn't matter what it was. He always had and he knew that would probably always be the case. It wasn't that he didn't have a sense of fashion or anything, he was up to date with the latest trends. It just was that getting all dressed up for something wasn't his cup of tea so to speak. Not to mention when you dressed formally usually every single hair had to be in place, and usually there was this one spot where his hair would refuse to stay put. But he'd picked up a few things throughout the years and now he avoided that problem but using a ton of gel or something to get untameable strands of hair to stay put. And if that didn't work he'd been known to call people up (a.k.a. his closest friends) and beg them for help. He knew that some people would find that very amusing so nobody knew that he actually did that. Right now though, his hair was actually staying down without him being forced to put a ton of things on it.
"I hate dressing up, period. It seems rather pointless to me." He said and knew that it was no use arguing about something like that. After all, she had been the one who had said that someday he was going to end up wearing a pink shirt, that hadn't happened yet but he knew that if somebody who was close to him heard that then they'd just dare him to do it. And he would back down unless there was money involved. Now if it was just five bucks or something it really didn't matter to him but if it was something higher then that well, he probably would do it. "Yes but, I wasn't in a very good mood either. And as for this not happening if you hadn't shown up. It might have happened you never know. Then again, maybe our roles would have been reversed." He said and knew how very easily that could have happened. Of course he knew that she probably thought that he didn't drink anymore. Well, he really didn't but it just was things had gotten a little out of control before.
As long as she guaranteed he didn't have to be worried about it he wouldn't. But if it was something that he had to be worried about then he'd probably get a little angry since he disliked it when people lied to him. Then again, he did tend to twist the facts around a bit sometimes but that was only with his parents and it was because he didn't feel like getting somebody into trouble, or himself at times. Of course he never wanted to get into trouble with his parents because at times his mother had literally cut off his interactions with the outside world. He then watched as she appeared to be trying to hide her brace more. "You don't have to be worried about your brace around me. Maybe it's because of Alex I really don't know but honestly, you don't have to be so self conscious around me." He said and then wanted to kick himself for even mentioning Alex, now she'd probably ask about him. Then he didn't know what he'd say perhaps he'd slap a fake smile onto his face and say that everything was fine. He knew that he probably could pull it off, he had before. It really wasn't that hard it just was that afterwords everything just sunk in and deep inside he knew things were not fine.
"The lake it is then, but I'm warning you Branden said that roads a little bumpy since his grandfather hasn't gotten around to putting new gravel on it yet." He said and knew that he'd have no problems getting out there in his truck. But the ride might not be very smooth and even though he did love to take his truck "off the beaten path" he knew that Jeanette probably didn't like bumpy rides. "I guess that's good to know but if somebody was taking my sister out I wouldn't let them go alone. Of course my sister's three years younger than me." He said and then listened to what she said about her mother. His own mother really hadn't been involved with the whole dating thing, his father really hadn't been either. They'd all been too focused about other things and he felt like he was just the forgotten child. They'd always fawn over Alex and his sister was the youngest, so there really wasn't a space for him. He'd gotten used to how much time he spent without seeing his parents though. After all his grandmother had always said that the oldest was usually on their own, and he certainly was most of the time. Sometimes he wished that his mother would notice him more, since at least his father talked to him when he was around. "I can't remember the last time my parents did something like that." He said and then sighed before staring the truck off and beginng to make his way toward the lake.

She looked at him and smiled. "Like I said it depends ont he occassion. Like prom. My god my mom's going to have a hay day with that." She said gently as she looked out the window in thought. She looked back at him as he said it could have been reversed roles or never happened. "If I hadn't ever shown up drunk and utterly sick to my stomach that night, would you have ever asked me out?" She asked gently looking at him curiously. That question had been running through her head all day for some odd reason. She frowned gently and looked down at her knee and the brace. "I know, I can't really help feel self-concious about it.It's just that... this is the first time I've put on a skirt since the accident and even then Mama and Nils both had to argue with me it before I caved in." She said gently as she brushed a hand over her skirt then looked back up at him. It was true. She hadn't worn a skirt since before the accident and she never wore shorts when she was in public. Shorts were reserved for when she felt like trying to work on the balance beem. She hated that they had locked the gym up for the rest of the summer. She didn't have anywhere else to work out on a balance beem.
She frowned gently and groaned at the words of a bumpy ride. "Well then don't be surprised if I close my eyes and hold my breath all the way down that road." She said gently looking at him. She really didn't do bumpy rides or rides during a thunderstorm too well. Both of them reminded her of the accident and she got horrible flashbacks, but she wasn't going to let her fears and problems ruin a good evening with Thomas. She looked to him and smirked gently. "Oh, well if she whinned and complained enough then you would probably never want to be the shaparone of her dates again." She said giggling some at the thought.
She looked at him frowning at his last statement and tilted her head some. She leaned over a little and laid her head on his shoulder. "I'm sorry." She murmured softly looking up at him.She didn't understand personally, but she had heard a friend of hers say that if you were the oldes child you often got pushed aside and very little attention. She ran a hand up and down his arm comfortingly before she reached up and gave him an soft kiss on the cheek. "You know you can talk to me about it if you ever want to. You'll find I'm a much better listener than when I'm drunk or sick to my stomach or hung over." She said gently as she laid her head back on his shoulder.

He made a face when she mentioned prom, he hated that time of year. Of course he got through alright with all of the dressing up that you had to do. But it just was the fact that everybody always talked about their parents and things just came down on him even more that his parents usually wouldn't really talk to him unless he did something really bad. Or if they told him not to drink again, and that had been broken and he probably would break it more. Sure he was determined not to go back into that person who partied every since weekend and drank so much that they forgot things. But once again he knew that he probably shouldn't be so silent as he was being at the moment. "The word prom brings one thing up for me. People holding me down and forcing me into something ten times more formal then this." He said and knew that she probably would believe that happened, and it did. Every once and awhile Ryan would gang up on him and get him into something as formal as this and the two would run off to the club and play a game that involved seeing who could get the most girls to dance with them. Of course, he really couldn't do that anymore now that he wasn't single. He hadn't exactly told Ryan who he was going out with since he knew that he'd object to him going out with a girl that wasn't one of the popular ones. And he was hoping that he'd come to his senses if he ever met her.
"Would I have asked you out? Well, I might have but there is a good chance that would have happened. But I probably would have confessed everything to one of my best friends who would have given me a push to say something." He said and knew that she didn't even know about the fact that up until junior high he'd had a very prominent shy side to him. So he didn't know if she would believe that he would have needed to be pushed to ask her out. "Well, honestly I knew a girl who'd been in a pretty serious accident and had some pretty serious scars and they probably wouldn't have the courage to wear a skirt." He said and knew that she didn't know who he was talking about but he did. It was a girl that he'd known from school but she'd moved away years ago and he didn't know what had happened to her. The two hadn't been close friends but he was one of the few people who hadn't teased her because of the scars on her body.
"Oh trust me, no amount of complaining could make me not want to watch her during dates." He said and then felt her kiss him, he then took her hand lightly. He knew that he could drive with one hand on the wheel for the time being. But once he got onto that gravel road he knew that he probably would need both hands on the wheel. "It's alright, I've gotten used to being alone." He said and realized that he hadn't told her that he probably wouldn't be home for the next few days. "By the way I'm taking a leave of absence from my home so if you feel like reaching me your best bet would be to call my cell phone. I'm staying at a friends house for a couple of days." He said and silently hoped she wouldn't ask why he was leaving his house for a few days.

(I've decided that I'm going to change her thing from gymnastics to figure skating... just to let you know..lol) She smiled gently and chuckled. Her soft eyes looked up at him. "If we're still together by the time prom rolls around, would you willing dress up in a tux for me, without being forced into it?" She asked sweetly looking at him. She was half teasing him, yet she was half seriouse at the moment too. She always loved dressing up in beautiful gowns almost as much as she had loved figure skating. Probably had something to do with the fact that she had to dress up for figure skating. She looked up at him smiled gently. "Oh, you would have had to be pushed towards me? That doesn't sound like the Thomas Dehart I've come to know." She said sweetly as she smiled playfully. She giggled gently before looking out the window for a moment in thought.
Her green eyes fell back to him and she smiled gently. She looked down at her leg for a moment in thought. "I may be wearing it, but I don't feel courageous enough to be wearing it. Truth be told if I hadn't walked into the kitchen before I started to put on my make-up I wouldn't be wearing this skirt. I had planned on a nice pair of jeans, but then mama fussed at me and got Neils into." She said gently as her green eyes watched cars as they passed some and some passed them. She looked back at him and chuckled gently. "That's exactly what Neils said, but look at him now. by the time he was taking my first boyfriend on our third date he had heard enough of my whinning and complaining." She said smiling gently as she looked down at her leg.
She looked down at his hand and smiled sweetly looking back up at him. She laced her fingers with his and laid their hands in her lap as her head rested on his shoulder. "But you're not alone anymore, Thomas. I'm here, at least so long as you let me stay." She said softly looking up at him. She lifted her head up at the mention of going to a friends for a while. She had a feeling that she wouldn't have to ask why. "Something happened with Alex didn't it?" She asked gently in a very solemn and gently tone looking at him waiting for an answer.

[And we, shake, shake, shake, the hips, in relationships.]
"I'm not sure if I could manage that or not but I'm sure that I could try." He said and knew that he'd probably still need to be pushed into getting dressed up for prom again. Although last year he'd had a little bit on an incentive since he'd ended up going with one of the girls on the cheerleading squad. And being forced into something really formal hadn't been that bad of an experience but that was the only time. Maybe it was because people hadn't pinned him down that time. Then again, if he remembered right last year he'd went with the "I don't really care about prom" attitude in the beginning of things which meant that he probably would have been a little more willing to do things that normally he'd put up a fight about. "Really, well maybe that's because I used to have a shy side up until junior high or so. You can ask any of my friends and they probably would tell you the same thing." He said and wondered what really had made him shove that shy side off to the side. Maybe it was because that was when the cliques had started to really take shape.
"Really, well you could have really resisted and just left the room without doing anything. Also, I know that some people would have switched into something else anyway." He said and knew that he probably wasn't doing a very good job of convincing her that she actually did have a bit of course just for putting a skirt on. Then again, he wasn't really self conscious about showing scars. "Well, you see I'd just tell her that if she complained that something would happen. Or that I could break her boyfriend and her up. Now would I really do that just because she was complaining, probably not. But if she was sneaking out at night to see him then I would do something about it." He said and wondered if he had an older sibling if he'd still be so protective of his sister. Probably, but he wouldn't be alone in plotting things and he wouldn't have a much freedom as he did now.
She was right about that but he still felt very alone when it was one in the morning and the house was so quiet it sent chills down his spine and he was sitting up thinking about things. The house always seemed rather quiet though, since his parents worked during the day and his sister went out. Most of the time he did but on the rare occasion he didn't the house was eerily silent even though he knew for a fact Alex was somewhere in it. "Yeah, but you probably can't be there at one in the morning. Since I really only get about six to seven hours of sleep a night." He said and knew that he probably should be sleeping more than that. But he just couldn't fall asleep at night and when he did he'd wake up suddenly and not able to fall back asleep again. "Yes, something did happen with Alex. He's fine but I'm not so he can be left completely alone without any human interaction for a few days unless my parents or sister try to talk to him." He said and knew that she'd probably want him to go into details. But every time that he did that he just got really frustrated.

She smiled gently and looked at him. "What if it entailed you wearing a pink vest?" She asked playfully. She was only joking with him now. She wasn't going to force him to wear a pink vest unless he just wanted to that is. She wasn't planning on wearing pink anyways for prom. She wore pink last year and she didn't plan on wearing it again. She looked at him and chuckled gently. "No, I think I trust you enough to believe you." She said sweetly as she laid her head back on his shoulder.
She looked at him and smiled gently. He wasn't doing such a good job of telling her he thought she had some courage for wearing a skirt. She just nodded and patted his knee gently with her free hand while her other hand's thumb stroked over his hand gently. She giggled gently and smiled brightly. "To bad Neils never thought of that. He probably did and knew that there was no use. I should hope your sister's smart enough not to sneak out." She said gently as she looked out her window in thought re-adjusting the seat belt because it was starting to cut into her waist.
She looked back up at him and frowned gently. "I get less sleep than that these days." She said gently looking up at him for a moment then out the wind sheild watching the car infront of them. She really didn't get that much sleep these days. Maybe three or four hours a night and it wasn't because she stayed up to late of her own accord. It's been because of the dreams. She would have nightmares and she wouldn't be able to sleep the rest of the night. "I wouldn't mind you calling me if you're ever feeling lonely at night though. I would probably meet you somewhere in a heartbeat if you wanted me to. After all if I'm not mistaken a favorite song of Mama's goes a little bit like this..." She said gently before she went into a lovely singing voice, "If you need me, call me.No matter where you are.No matter how far, dont worry baby. Just call my name.I'll be there in a hurry. You don't have to worry." She chuckled some and looked up at him smiling.
She looked at him and nodded gently. "If you don't want to talk about it I'm not going to push the matter Thomas." She said gently looking at him then down at their linked hands. "I know how he feels so I know how hard he's making it on you, and I'm sorry that he is." She said gently looking back up at him as she gave his hand a gentle comforting squeeze.

"Oh no, like I said before there's no way I'm wearing pink. Especially at prom now don't get me wrong you may or not hear a story that says that I ran around in a pink dress shirt for a couple of hours but maybe that's just a story." He said and then smiled slightly, he hoped that she wouldn't be able to speak with Ryan by herself for awhile since he knew that his other best friend would probably tell her stories like that. Although that one had actually happened, he just hadn't told anybody about it happening. They'd decided to go all formal before going to the club and Ryan had thrown a shirt at him and said not to whine about it being pink but he "couldn't find any other ones" which he knew wasn't the truth. Wearing pink hadn't been entirely bad though since he'd managed to find a girl that had said that he was very brave to be wearing such a color and the two had spent the rest of the night at the club together. "Ok, because if you didn't then like I said before, you could probably ask any of my friends, or any guys who's been around here since elementary school and they'd say the same thing." He said and then turned onto a little side road. They still had awhile before they got to the lake but this was supposedly a shortcut to it. The road was blacktopped but it still was a bit bumpy.
"She won't sneak out, trust me. Of course, I hope that she doesn't use me as a role model then." He said and then smiled slightly, he didn't know if he'd told Jeanette all of the stuff that he used to do, especially last year. Sure he still would sneak out of the house sometimes but that was because he needed to go for a walk to clear his head or something. "I don't sleep that much sometimes, but at times I can sleep for twelve hours at a time." He said and then once again his thoughts drifted back to Alex for a moment. Sometimes he'd sleep for that long then be up for a little bit before sleeping for a couple more hours again. It made him wonder how he could sleep so much. He then listened to what she said, he was glad that she'd said that she'd meet him somewhere in a heartbeat. Since he probably would be calling her up at one in the morning sometime, most likely soon if Alex didn't shape up.
"Let's just say that he threw a baseball at my knee so now there's this huge bruise on it. So if I kind of hobble around that's why." He said and then sighed, the last time Alex had thrown something at him that hard his ankle had started to swell up. He hoped that wouldn't happen again because he hated to just lay around for hours on end. But after Jeanette and him parted for the night he was leaving for Ryan's. He'd tossed a bag of cloths in the backseat but he knew that he'd probably stay there longer than a couple of days. He'd been known to stay over there for a week and then leave for a few days before coming back. "Yeah, it's not just that he throws things at me. He's developed an attitude probably with me lately and he glares at me every time that I see him." He said before leaning back in the seat slightly maybe he'd let Jeanette drive on the highway on the way back.

She let off a soft giggle. "What if I paid you?" She asked teasingly looking at him. If he was desperate enough for some of his own money he would probably take up that offer. "Oh, don't you worry. If I ever question your honesty I'll just go to a few or your friends and see what they say." She said smirking gently. She looked to the road and frowned gently at the slight bumps, but they weren't bothering her too much.
She looked back to him and chuckled gently. "My my, are you a hell raiser, Mr. Dehart?" She asked looking at him kind of questioningly. If he was she certainly had a way of picking out guys that raised a lot of hell. She looked down at her hand for a moment in thought then back to him frowning. "I'm lucky to even get eight hours of sleep these days." She said gently looking back down at her hands.
She looked him in utter suprise as he said he threw a ball at his knee. She had thought that maybe just maybe she had gotten through to Alex, but it was starting to sound like she wasn't. She kissed him on the cheek gently then laid her head on his shoulder. She listen to him speak further of Alex and frowned even more. She reached her hand up and rubbed his arm softly. "You'll get through it eventually. You may not think it, but I can tell you've a good strong heart that can get you through this." She said gently looking up at him before she nuzzled her nose against his shoulder and laid her cheek back on it.
