So there he was, calmly riding along on Amadeus. The grey Thoroughbred stallion was in high spirits this morning but it was nothing that he couldn't handle. The stallion just wanted to run and he would get his run in when they reached the part of the trail that crossed a field. But until that time they'd have to stay at the steady canter. "Hang on buddy, we're almost there. I know you want to go faster then this but it really wouldn't be a good thing for us to go tearing around a corner and then find somebody else coming around the corner." He said and then patted the horses neck, he'd been riding since he was at least four years old. Maybe earlier then that, he really didn't know he did know that his father had tried to teach his older brother how to ride but Josh was actually afraid of horses. And he hadn't came around to the stables in years now and the last time he'd been here he had to deliver a message to him.
There were only three horses that he rode here and Amadeus was the horse that he chose today because he'd just ridden Star a few days ago. He usually came out to the stables a few times a week and there were only a few people that knew that and all of them had sworn not to tell a soul. And he figured that nobody from school would ever find out about him riding because he couldn't think of a single person in the high school that rode on a regular basis. But still, he had to be worried about what would happen if somebody told people that he rode. If that happened then people would probably think of him differently and that definitely would not be a good thing.
((Short but I didn't know if you wanted a long post or not.))

((It's fine, the musemobile might not allow me very long posts.))
Bit of dirt tossed up behind a horse that was being worked at a very rapid pace. The copper colored tail of the animal held itself high, blowing in the breeze it created as it cantered in a large circle. Sweat was not yet rolling along it's body, but it couldn't be long before there was a heavy lather working from him. The rider seemed to realize this and pulled the horse back up to a slow walk, patting it's wet neck and leaning back.
It was a boy, a teenage boy. It appeared that he was a senior in high school, and in this case, appearences were correct. He had thick brown hair atop his head and long muscled legs. His arms and face glistened with sweat from the day's heat, and his arms flexed as he wiped it away, showing off his dazzlingly large muscles.
He suddenly stiffened, his eyes searching for the direction of the rider he knew was coming. His horse, it's black pelt steaming, pricked it's ears in the direction of a west face, and Brad turned toward the sound, pulling his reigns over the saddle horn and crossing his arms over them. He sat watching, his Wrangler brand jeans clinging to his legs, and his skin tight t-shirt becoming more transparent with each second in the sun.
He pulled his working ranch hat down farther over his eyes, toes spreading and relaxing in his Roper riding boots.

As Amadeus rounded the corner he noticed another rider in the field and as he got closer he noticed that the boy seemed to be around his age. Now this was something that was really unheard of and he wondered what he was doing here. Since he'd never seen the horse around the stables before and it looked like the boy was an experienced rider, like himself. Which meant that the two certainly would have crossed paths before this. Meaning that there was only one logical explanation for all of this, the boy was new. Which meant that there was another person in the high school that rode horses. And he hoped that would be a good thing but now this person would have to promise not to tell anybody that he rode. "Well, we might as well go and say hello now that they've spotted us." He said to the horse and then sent him off toward the new boy at a brisk trot. He knew that this new boy wasn't just one of those people who had paid to rent a horse because he seemed to be too skilled to be on a horse for the first time. Sure there was always the slight chance that he could be out here on his horse and be from another town but he didn't think so.
As soon as he was within ten feet of the boy Amadeus whinnied at the new horse, the stallion for whatever reason was very curious about new horses. He let the horse walk a few feet closer to the boy before he stopped him. "It's a nice day for a ride isn't it?" He asked and hoped that it didn't show that he was a little surprised to find somebody else around his age out riding on a horse.

The boy sat up in his saddle, taking up the reigns and clicking his horse into a walk to come up next to the other horse, out of range to bite or kick, but close enough to talk to the other rider. "Sure is," he said, "that's a handsome mount you have there." He eyed the horse, noting the nearly perfect confirmation and lovely coloring of the stallion. He gave a smile that only lifted up one corner of his mouth.
Spirit was trying to sniff the other horse's muzzle, but his rider wasn't about to let him get that close to a strange mount. He didn't know this horse's temperment, or how he would react to having his muzzle blown in, a sign of dominance that Spirit always tried to impose on new horses. The boy stuck his hand out to the other rider, "Brad Matthews," he said, voice gruff and hardy like anyone would expect someone who looked and acted like him to sound, "Pleasure to meet you."

Yes, Amadeus certainly was handsome and the stallion definitely knew it. Right now he was curiously eying the other horse but he wasn't going to allow the horse to get any closer. "He is rather handsome and he knows it too. He's in high spirits this morning though that's probably because whoever rode him last probably didn't let him have a good run." He said as he studied the other horse, it seemed to be a very nice mount judging by its confirmation. As soon as he heard the boy's name he knew that he hadn't heard of him before. Which meant that he was most likely new. It shook his hand before looking over at the other horse again. "Branden Devereaux, and this is Amadeus." He said and then patted the stallion's neck as he tired to think of something else to say. He was still a little surprised by the fact that there was somebody his own age out here. "So, are you new here?" He asked curiously and then waited for his answer. It wouldn't surprise him if he was new and not to mention it would be a nice conversation starter then. Since he would want to know about the boy and things like that.
((Sorry for the short post))

"Well this is Spirit, and he's certainly got plenty of it too." He smiled a bit at his own joke and nodded slightly, "Pleasure to meet you Branden." He stretched his legs again in his stirrups and regained his attention to this new boy and his horse. He knew he'd heard the name of this boy, but also knew he hadn't met him. He looked like a football player, perhaps QB? Whoever he was, he'd only heard a little about him, "Yea, I'm new here."
He swung his foot over his horse's back to sit sideways in the saddle, one leg crossed over the other, reins resting on the horn of the saddle. "Kind of a small town isn't it?" He spoke with the accent and gruffness of a real rancher, and it matched his appearence.
