Jeanette sat on a rock that stood next to the river. Her accoustic guitar was in her hand and she was playing to sooth herself. Things had been rough between her and Nils the last few days because of their argument, but it was slowly smoothing out. Her green eyes looked out at the water for a moment as she just played some random calming tune. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Her eyes fluttered back open and she looked down to her hand and the strings as she slowly started to play the lulliby that her father sang her to sleep with.
Her soft delicate voice started to sing the words that she played all the time. Her voice rang over the sounds of the river. Weather anybody believed it or not she was actually in a pair of shorts. She didn't know why, but she had felt like it even though it showed the brace and her scars from the wreck and the surgeries. She was still a little self-concious of them, but she tried to ignor it. Her shirt was a simple pink tanktop and her black hair was tied back in a french braid that started from her right temple and snaked to the middle of her head.
She stopped singing and looked down at her guitar for a moment and her hand ran over the strings as she thought. "I miss you, Papa." She said softly as she looked to the river and watched the water rush over a group of rocks. She set the guitar down and slipped off her shoes. She walked out onto the group of rocks and carefully stepped on one while water rushed over her feet and ankles. She closed her arms and held out her arms like she was a bird as she felt a gust of wind rush by. In that moment she felt free and happy as if she didn't have a care in the world about anything.

Oliver walked up to the river, the first thing he will see at this school. He walked down the hill and stopped at the bank of the river. "Woah, this is wicked." Oliver said to himself. He smiled slightly at the girl standing over there. She's pretty hot...Oliver thought. He shook his head and looked back at the river.
Oliver was wearing baggy jeans and a blue t-shirt that says New York on it. New York is where he's from and Oliver likes it there better than here. In New York, he has friends there unlike here at this school. Oliver's scar on his arm was hurting him for some reason today. He got it from a car accident when he was five so he barley remembers what happened.
When the girl stopped singing and stepped into the lake, Oliver went over to her and decided to talk to her. Oliver is a little shy at first but otherwise he's a normal kid. He took his tennis shoes and socks off and went into the river by her. "Hey, I'm Oliver Michaels. Pleasure to meet you." Oliver said looking at her. His voice was small and a little quiet since he is a little shy.

She sat there and let her arms fall as she wind settled down. She jumped at the sound of a newcomer's voice and looked at the boy that was right next to her. How he managed to sneak up on her she didn't know, but she felt so stupid about the way she was standing just a minute ago. She smiled gently at him and sighed a bit of relief. "Jeanette Panagiotou, nice to meet you as well." She said sweetly in that thick Greek accent she had. She held out a delicate hand for him to shake.
It was safe to say with the accent she wasn't exactly from around here. She actually had moved here close to the beginning of summer from Athens, Greece. She had originally started as a foreign exchange student, but then her mom and brother for some reason decided to move here. She had come just to get away from the pain of the past few months. She needed to get out of Athens and she did. So here she was

Oliver shook Jeanette's hand. "So uh..where are you originally from? Somewhere over the ocean I assume. I'm from Niagara Falls, New York." he said. Oliver smiled slightly at Jeanette warmly. 'By the way, you accent is pretty sweet." he added. Oliver looked up at the sky.
"I'm freezing. Is it always this cold?" he asked looking at Jeanette. Oliver shut up. He decided he was rambling on about stupid stuff. Oliver sighed. He thought about his old girlfriend in New York. She dumped him the day he left because he was leaving. Oliver really liker her too. Oh well...there's plenty of girls here I bet...he thought to himself. Oliver shouldn't have chose to come here. He should've stayed in New York with his mom. But his parents are getting a divorce so that's the main reason he came here. To get away from his parents.

She smiled and chuckled gently. "Oh yes, somehwhere far over the ocean. I'm from Athens, Greece." She said sweetly as she took her hand back. She looked at him for a moment and nodded. "Thank you." She said gently looking at him. She was still trying to get used to the Northerners' accents. Her mother was trying to make it less of a habit to call them Yanks now that they lived there.
She looked at him and frowned softly. "You're probably cold because your standing in a river." She said sweetly. She would be worried if he wasn't cold for that reasong because it's the middle of summer. It wasn't normal for people to be cold in the middle of summer.

"It would be awesome to live there!" Oliver said happily. He smiled at Jeanette and replied, "Your welcome." Oliver someday is going to Rome and Jerusalem. That would be awesome to him. Meet the pope, hang where his buddy did. Oliver is very religious and it is a dream of his to go to those places.
Oliver laughed at his stupidness. "Yeah, I guess standing in a river would make someone cold." he said. "Sorry for being stupid..." Oliver added. He stepped out of the river and let his feet air dry. After they were dry, he put his socks and tennis shoes on. "It's summer I'm a little slow." Oliver said turning pink a little.

She looked at him and giggled a little. "It was okay. I lived in the city so there wasn't much to look at other than the Acropolis." She said sweetly looking at him then down at her feet. She stepped out of the water and back onto the rock. She slowly and carefully sat down.
She looked at him as she giggled sweetly. "It's alright, we all have our moments, every once and a while." She said trying to not let him feel stupid. She ran a hand over the black brace on her knee wishing that she had wore a pair of capris instead of shorts now. She hated having to explain the story of it to people.
