Ivy strode into the mall alongside Levy. She still couldn't believe this place, it was much bigger than the mall in her old town. They passed shoe shops, and other clothing, accessory and other shops. Suddenly she glanced it, The Slice Shack. It was a family owned business that still retained it's comfortable atmosphere. She pointed it out to Levy. "The have the most heavenly pizza I've ever tasted" she told her.
When they entered the place the tempo seemed to slow down compared to that of the outside of the mall, and the scent of fresh pizza wafted towards them. "So, what do you think" Ivy asked her. Despite having such good pizza it never seemed to be overly busy which was another thing that she loved about it.

Lev entered the Pizza Shack and instantly felt at home "Homey" Lev smiled "I like it- I'll trust you on the best pizza ever thing" They walked up to the counter, Lev leaned on it a bit."HMMMM... we'll have a pie, a small one" she told the man behind the counter and turned to Ivy "what do you want on it?" she asked.
While waiting for Ivy to answer she looked around a bit more, it really was a cozy little place. The mall itself was a big sea of commercialism, this place was different.

She smiled as Levy said that she liked it, and went to go order. She heard her ask what she wanted. "I like just about everything" she told Levy, "Well, except anchovies. I've never really gotten the taste for them." She made a face and grinned. "Anything in particular you'd like" she asked her.
"I've always been pretty good at finding smaller places like this" she told Levy honestly, "Just a natural talent I suppose." She looked around and met the eyes of one of the guys in the back. She smiled at him and waved, he had worked here for what seemed like ever. He used to call her squirt because he had known her when she was young.

"Everything but anchovies sounds good" Lev told the man, he took the order and told them "it'll be a while" Lev smiled thanks and walked over to a booth table "So" Levy began, she was never one for small talk. She didn't know exactly what to say.
"Who was that guy, in the back?" She asked remembering the guy Ivy waved at. He seemed a lot older than them for them to be friends or anything, but who knew? Lev used to chill with people twice her age.

Ivy heard Levy order and it sounded good to her. They went to sit down and she heard Levy begin to speak. "Oh, that's Johnny" she told Levy hearing her question. She smiled, "He's known me since I was a little kid, like 3 years old" she told her, "I used to spend time out here with my aunt and uncle when I was younger and that's how we met." She paused and then added, "That's why mom and dad decided to move here, they thought it would be a nice change and Aunt Tiana and Uncle Luc seem to like it."
She shrugged, "As I said it seems nice, not quite as special now that my whole family is here though" she admitted, "Still nice though, they always seem to have nice weather here which is great. My older sister will love it, she can wear all her designer clothes without worrying about them getting ruined."
"I'm sure you can tell we're kind of different" she told Levy. "Why did you move here" she asked her, "If it's not to personal or something."

"Uh, well I got into a bit of trouble where I used to live and got sent here to live with Don and Sherryl" she said naming her foster parents. "nothing big, but I just wasn't really wanted there anymore." she shrugged. "When did you guys move?" She asked. "Hold that thought!" she said before Ivy could answer and got up back to the counter to order drinks, the guy gave them to her and told her to pay later with the pizza.
"Hope coke is ok" she said handing her the can. "Ok"

"Yeah, I'm good with coke" she told Levy honestly. "We moved about two weeks ago" she told her. "It was kind of sudden. One day we all came home, Harmony was at cheerleading practice, I was at the library doing reading buddies, and Gwendolyn was at baseball practice and our parents were like, 'we're moving'" Ivy laughed, "Boy were we all surprised" she told Levy, "My sisters were so angry, they didn't want to leave their teams and things, but our parents were kind of insistent."
She took a small sip of the coke thinking. "I'm sorry you weren't wanted" Ivy said sadly, "I have to say though that I find it hard to believe. You seem like a cool person."

"Thanks, but it really was time for me to go..." Lev smiled "I like to think of myself as cool too, though I can be a bit of a dork." she chuckled a bit. "reading buddies?" she asked quirking a brow curiously.
There were guys to the table to the left of them. Lev smiled seductively at them (hey, somethings didn't change) "Don't look but I think one of them is checking you out" She said under her breath.

"You may be a bit of a dork sometimes" Ivy said, "but I am the queen of the dorks." Ivy smiled even though it wasn't a joke. She sighed, "It will never change" she told her, "And yeah, reading buddies." She blushed, "I liked helping kids read, it was fun to see their faces when they started to get the hang of it" she admitted, "See what I mean queen of the dorks."
Ivy rolled her eyes when she saw Levy smiling seductively at what she assumed were some guys at the next table. She reminded her a bit of her boy crazy sisters. She chuckled under her breath. "Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm pretty sure you're wrong" she told Levy, "Guys don't check me out. they check out my sisters, they ask me for homework help."

Levy chuckled again "I think you're wrong, you're really pretty, you just don't show it off the right way" Lev said "and I know when a guy is checking someone out and he was checking you out." She smiled.
"Anywyas, it's nice about the kids thing, I could never have the patience to teach anyone anything. Do you want to do that when you grow up? Be a teacher?" She took a sip of her soda and watched Ivy with ingrigue.
"Pizza's ready girls" called the man "I'll get it" Lev got up and walked over to the counter comming back with the small pie with everything on it back to the table. "yum looks good"

Ivy blushed a little bit when Levy complimented her. "Let's drop it alright" she asked Levy with a sigh knowing that the girl was wrong. "I suppose it did take patience, but they were just so sweet" Ivy said smiling, "They would look up at you with their big eyes and smile. I can still see their toothy grins."
She heard Levy ask if she wanted to be a teacher. "Well, I've considered it" she told her thoughtfully, "but I plan on being a doctor. I want to specialize in pediatric oncology." She paused realizing that Levy might not know what that meant. "See what I mean, dork queen" Ivy said chuckling, "I case you don't know, it means I want to specialize in treating children with cancer."
Levy went and got the pizza and brought it back looking delicious. Ivy picked up a slice nodding in agreement with her about it looking good. She took a small bite and smiled. "Heavenly" she murmured nodding. "So, what about you? What do you want to do with your life?'

"Okay, Okay" Lev said holding her hands up in defeat "I'll drop it" she said knowing full well she was right. She took a slice of pizza blew on it and took a big bite. She chewed it up and swallowed it before speaking again.
"That sounds nice, bieng a doctor and helping cancer kids, I could never do it working when I know thye might end up dead anyways..." she said thinking for a moment, she had never really seen death first hand, no one she loved ever died.
"I'm not one for planning, I just live day by day, maybe I'll grow out of it one day... If I had to chose right now though I'd be a social worker"

"I know it will be hard" Ivy said thinking about the job she wanted, "and med school won't exactly be easy either, but it just seems worth it. Saving the lives of children. It just seems so noble." She smiled, "I considered being a lawyer, but I don't think I'd do so well around criminals" she admitted.
She smiled when Levy said she wasn't one for plans. "I can't imagine not having a plan. Especially during the school year I practically have every minute of the day planned" Ivy told her, "People say I'm a little uptight, but I think I'd have a heart attack if I was living day by day like you." "A social worker, huh" Ivy said thoughtfully, "That would be interesting, but much like what you said I think it would be too hard for me. I couldn't bear to see kids being mistreated. Ones who lived on the street or who were abused by their parents." Her eyes shone with unshed tears as she thought about it, "It would be very rewarding I'm sure" she admitted, "but it would just be so hard."

"Yeah, it would be hard, but like you said it would be worth it. And I'm used to seeing those kinds of kids, I've been in foster care before and in the shelter, I just want to make sure they're safe" Lev said shrugging a bit remembering the things she'd seen and heard from kids far more worst off than her.
"This pizza really is good" she said taking her second slice.
"and about the whole schedule thing, I'd die if I had to live by a strict regime, I like having my options open better."

Ivy smiled, "Everyone has their own past right" she told Levy. "I'm sure you'll do a good ob protecting people" she told her, "You seem to be the type of person who could protect people well." "Thanks I think it's good too" Ivy said picking up another slice as well, generally she didn't have a very large appetite, but this pizza was very good.
"Just my point form earlier, everyone needs to be different" Ivy said in return to her point about scheduling. "I like to have free time as well, but I'm just so bust with schoolwork and everything" she paused and then added, "My parents are making me slow down here though. They were kind of worried about me wearing myself out." She rolled her eyes, "Collapse in one gym class and apparently you're over stressed" she muttered chuckling. "Seriously, they're so paranoid" Ivy said with a sigh, "I love my family, but overprotective much. Especially Harmony."
